4000-BBL GUSHER THRU DRILL PIE A mile of drill pipe obstructing the flow of oil from the United Oil Company's Haas 6 does not seem to under the well in the least from doing better than 4000 barrels daily. At 5186 the United's gusher blew in unexpectedly and had to be capped without pulling the drill pipe from the hole. The big well is making 30.4 gravity oil and is one of the best wells the United Oil Company has on the Haas lease. The United has met with splendid success with all of its Long Beach undertakings and during the time that the company has been operating on the Hill it has taken a prominent position among the oil producers. The General Petroleum's Clock 1 the well that will establish a new world record for deep production has been temporarily delayed. The long string of drill pipe stuck at 5972 and stopped for a while the drilling of the well to 6000 feet as planned. The trouble it is believed is only a matter of few days, and probably before the end of the week the Clock well will be on production and Long Beach, the General Petroleum and Southern California will have something new and distinct in the way of an oil wonder. The General Petroleum's K. and H. 2A now being completed at 5500 is expected to be one of the deep marvels of the field. Lou Anger No. 1 at 4490 is one of the nice producers of the northwest section of the Long Beach field. The Anger well is making 3500 bbls. It is understood that the Lou Anger is owned by moving picture interest and that the success of the well means more development. The Marine Oil Corporation put two nice producers on the list with the completion of numbers 2 and 19. A remarkable fact in connection with the coming in of the two wells is that both are making the same output 1800 barrels. Marine No. 2 SANTA FE LEASE, Sept. 6. The Anger well is making 3500 bbls. It is understood that the Lou Anger is owned by moving picture interest and that the success of the well means more development. The Marine Oil Corporation put two nice producers on the list with the completion of numbers 2 and 19. A remarkable fact in connection with the coming in of the two wells is that both are making the same output, 1800 barrels. Marine No. 2 was completed at 4240 and No. 19 at 4270. Both wells are making 28 gravity, clean oil. The Marine Oil Corporation started operations soon after oil was discovered on the Hill and in the two years of operations the company has built up one of the largest productions of any one of the independents. The Monrovia Oil Company a stock company backed for the most part by people of Monrovia is now enjoying a producting. The McKeon Drilling Company completed the well at 4610 and brought it in at 1500 bbls. It is understood that the Monrovia Oil Company will drill two more wells at once, the new wells to offset the San Martinez Oil Company's holdings. Outlook for the extreme northwest section of the field seemingly does not improve. The Northwest Extensions' No. 1 has passed the 5400 foot mark and the well is not showing anything that looks like oil. The Braddock-Haslam Drilling Company has made an excellent record in drilling the well and has been very careful in coring and checking up on the formation changes. SNAKE EPIDEMIC HITS CONNECTicut DANBURY, Conn., Sept. 6.—A Saint Patrick to charm away the snakes of western Connecticut were no bad idea, in the opinion of farmers in this district, and of visiting motorists also. "No living person remembers the time when snakes were so often in full public view, and motorists have a hard time to avoid the creatures in midroad, while farmers are wearing extra leg protection while working in the hay pastures. Dry weather is driving snakes out of their lairs to seek water, experts report. The most serious snake story reported comes from North Canaau, where a Summer girl stepped on a sleeping rattler and was bitten. H. Frank Harris, local official killed an 8-foot blacksnake in his hay lot and found a baby rabbit within the snake. FOR RESULTS—Try a Plain Dealer Want-ad. One explanation of the worrying done by grocers is found in the saying "Let's take a taxi." Dove hunting this year is only for the man who knows where and how, according to reports here today. The birds have been shot earlier in the season and are wild, and lack of water and feed at nearby points has led them to flock elsewhere. Many Amandelmers who went out the last three days got few birds. Dean Hasson was one exception. He and Fred Minyard each got the limit early this morning, according to Hasson, in Santa Ana canyon. Hasson reported that while there weren't many birds, the limit was possible with cautious shooting. Horsehoe bend in the canyon, and Carbon canyon, especially near Yorba Linda, were their grounds. Saturday morning Hasson also got the limit of 15 doves on the Old Mormon trail in Sawpit canyon at the headwater of the Mojave. Hasson is on his vacation, and his family was with him. Jack Warner and son, John shot 27 Saturday morning. Frank and Clarence Flower each bagged the limit Saturday in Carbon canyon. Lee Baker local shoe shine artist, Joe Echanty of Placentia, were so busy looking for birds yesterday around Irvine ranch that their car went into a culvert and aid had to be summoned from Orange. Baker was thrown out of the car on his head, but wasn't badly hurt and was on the job again. The car was smashed up a bit. The two got six birds. ACCIDENT NEAR TAHOE An accident was reported to local police by William M. Gillmore of Anaheim, on a steep grade between Lake Tahoe and Silver Lake. The brakes on another car did not hold, and ran into the rear of his car, damaging it to the extent of about $50, he said. Counsel That Creates Effectiveness And Economy LOTS! LOTS!! $1000.00 LOTS!
