SILVERADO MINES BIG ASSET TO ORANGE-CO In an interview today with one of the owners of the old Silverado Mine situated in Orange-co, he submitted the following statement: Orange.co has developed a great citrus fruit industry, valuable oil production and added materially to the assets of this part of the state. Orangico can boast of prosperity second to no like area within the United States; prosperity of a lasting and substantial nature. One only has to look at the various bank statements to see the wonderful growth and prosperous condition of all classes of business. While all these various sources of wealth exist yet the people of Orange-co will be surprised to learn that, within 24 miles of Anaheim and within 50 miles of Los Angeles, the fastest growing city in the world, there is one of the richest silver mines west of the Rocky Mountains. The Blue Light Silver Mine Co., which took over the old Silverado three years ago, has spent a large amount of money in its development and ore separation, and the company is prepared to announce at this time that the present showing warrants assertion that no mine in the entire west has a better outlook than this one. At the 150-feet level, an ore shoot was opened up 140-foot long, with a two-third portion of high grade, the whole vein being about four feet wide. We are sinking a shaft at center of this body of ore, now down 60 feet. It improves in size and value at depth. Sill & Still reputable and well known mining engineers of Los Angeles report that the average of the entire vein at 150-ft. level runs 29.7 ozs.of silver, up to 1½ ozs.gold and 24% lead. High grade samples run up to 765 ozs.of silver with good gold, 24% lead values additional. From a mining expert standpoint this ore shoot extends down to unnearly three years and spends a fortune in their efforts to locate same. We can safely say now that the problem has been solved and feel sure that this variable property is now one of the greatest assets Of橙eco-Mr.C.H.Eygabroad have been with us as presidentofthecompany duringalloureffortsandhisgood judgment,businessability,anddeterminationhasbeenwonderfulhelpintthislongperiodof.attimes,discouragingworkabouttwoyearsogo.Mr.C.SanleyChapman,theoneOf橙-ecco,mostenergeticbusinessmenbecameinterestedinhithime,nowownainingalargeportionsfamereandthegreatestpartofthesuccessfull outcomeisduetohissplendidjudgment和帮助Mr.chapmannalwayshadfaithinfutureofthistmine, firmlybelievingthatdevelopmentwerk wouldeventually bringaboutresults. From a mining expert standpoint this ore shoot extends down to unknown depth and should materially improve an development extend down. There are seven known ore shoots at the higher level, all of which are being cut by a tunnel about 1400 feet below the 150-ft. level. This tunnel is following the vein on a drift at about 300 feet from bottom of mountain and it is our intention to open up all these ore shots or chinnneys at this low level, while this tunnel is not far enough to reach these shoots, yet we are in ore of a very satisfactory condition much better than expected at the distance drifted. Until a few months ago, it was not known where the lower part of the vein of ore was situated, as the whole top part of the mountain had been pushed over from some where shearing the vein in two carrying with it only the top 200 feet of this ore body. For 75 or more years efforts have been made to locate the other end of this immense ore Body. The owners of Blue Light have had from 10 to 40 men working for Ed Pember, C.M.Hollingahead, Fred Hess, J.Dwyer, Joseph Wagner, C.H.Walker, DrHarvey,M.W.Martenet,Geo.B.Peck John Pfisher now largely interested in Ransberg Mining; B.Fischer Geo Hamler and I.O.Curtles besides many others both here and in Los Angeles. Five firemen were injured fighting the flames and a score of persons suffered from the effects of smoke. The hotel was crowded when the blaze broke out and it was with difficulty that it was emptied. The three upper floors of the Commercial and Savings Bank Building were damaged. Loss estimated close to $800,000. of good pure water most of the season. Cold springs are available at all times, and at one place exists pure sulphur springs; claimed to be of good medicinal value. This sulphur spring is only a few feet from the highway. I have known people to travel hundreds of miles to receive benefits of such water. The mine owns a beautiful camp site, many of all kinds of necessary buildings including dining house, completely fitted assay office, bunk homes, bungalow office and sleeping room for officials. This is completely fitted in modern style, with running water, bath etc. Last but not least we have a complete 50-ton daily capacity concentration mill, operated with all of the latest improved machinery, with 100 horsepower crude oil burning engine, with many other smaller engines, all lighted with electricity.A telephone system at mill to mine,a air compressor, machinery for mining ete.,Our equipped mill cost over $100,000 dollars. A telephone system at mill to mine, air compressor, machinery for mining etc., Our equipped mill cost over $100,000 dollars. We just sent out a car of concentrate last week. Car loads of high grade could be taken out; but advancement of blocking our ore does not warrant such work at this time. We intend to rapidly advance the development work to a point where the blocked out ore will warrant adding a unit or two more to the mill capacity. We are at a point now, where we can safely invite any and all expert mining men to look us over, feeling sure that our estimate of conditions have not been over-drawn. In conclusion would say that we are all pleased to know that we have done something towards placing Orange-co on the map from a mining standpoint. Each Saturday afternoon and Sunday the company has available guide and would be pleased to take anyone thru our mine. No effort will be made to sell them stock, as all stocks is owned by individuals and I know none for sale. Our invitation is extended only for the purpose of showing what we are proud of.
