BUSINESS CLUB
TAKES SEASIDE
CITY BY STORM
THIRTY-THREE members of the
Budness and Professional Women's club invaded Balboa last evening. The "Sharks" left Anaheim at 5 o'clock and took a dip in the bay before dinner. The water was rather cool but every one had a wonderful time. Others left Anaheim at 6 and did not get down until later. The members sang their club songs, then formed a serpentine to the door of Young's café where the best dinner obtainable was served. Singing and merry conversation whiled away the evening hours during the courses.
The happy "bunch" went to the pavilion where some danced until 11 o'clock, while others who did not care to dance went boat riding.
In the party were the Misses Blanch Mickle, Clem Backs, Alice Teevan, Helen Weber, Eunice Rainey, Dorcas Jacques, Marcella Weber, Lucille Nenno, Lucylee Bastian, Callye Sparks, Ellie Jessurun, Betty West, Ruth Pannier, Elsa Block, Johanna Brickson, Helen Shanklin, Sue Amack, May Poirier, Agnes Saviers, Ruth Chamberlain, Margaret Blake, Lottie Kriek, Alice Pannier, Ellen Tuna, Ruth White, Myrtle Winters, Helen Melhorn, Agnes Bastian, Irene Jacques, Lillian Degryse, Mesdames Beasle Bruington, Ruth C. Bandini, M. E. Canby, Mabel Hathawny, Dr. B. Raincha.

Community Shop Moves
The Community Shop, formerly fronting South Los Angeles at in the old marinaade building, has moved into the room 8, on the south side of the building to make way for the candy factory. While not quite so accessible, the present shop rooms are much larger and cooler and when arranged will present a comfortable appearance.
The shop is sorely in need of clothing of all kinds, as the demand is greatest while the fruit is being picked. Anything is acceptable in the way of wearing apparel, and the packages may be called for by phoning Mrs. Price, $66-J. A hurried inventory of the closets and the attic will certainly produce some clothing which can better be spared than to hang for months, accumulating dust and moths, and depriving some one of its use.
The shop committee is actively occupied with its part in arranging for the emergency hospital and dental clinic; funds for the equipment of which are available. Miss Mitchell of Los Angeles, field worker from the tubercular department of the state board of health, was here yesterday looking over the situation and offered suggestions for the proposed welfare work.

Anahelm was represented by Mr. and Mrs. Viacent Bruce and conPaul, Mrs. Emma B. Losey, Mrs. F. Bruce, W. H. Foster, Sidney McDonald, Thomas Losey and others.
