MORSE TEAM ADDS .. 8th SCALP TO BELT
A battle royal took place Sunday at Santa Fe Springs between those two veteran ball teams, Morse and two veteran ball teams, Marse and Santa Fe lease aggregations, when the Morse team won 3 to 0 after five innings.
Neal, right fielder for the Morse team knocked a home run.
This is the eighth consecutive victory for the Morse squad and some real ball players are being developed. Scout Ellis, famous out fielder on the St. Louis team watched the games and had his eye on several would-be-stars. Pitcher Holeman of the winning team made good at his post. Johnson was the receiver and played a good game, both catching and slugging.
Morse team players: Johnson, Gragg Buck, Holman' Fields, Messer, Neal, McKinley, and Bowe.
Santa Fe squad: Blankenship, West, Rogers, Dean, Allburg.
Morse team made 11 hits against 3 registered by the Santa Fe Lease.
BASEBALL FANS PREDICT GOOD GAME
Anaheim baseball bugs will see some action Sunday when the local Elks base ball team battles the White Kings of Los Angeles. This aggregation boasts one of the fastest semi-professional squads in the southland. Ford Tally pitcher, is rated as a go-getter and has made an enviable record in his pitching career.
Herb Salveson will be Anaheim's moundsmen and will display some action.
The White Kings team is sponsored by the Los Angeles Soap Co. This is not one of the games in the Elks league.
The visitors line-up will be Hields, ss; Hease, cf; Thompson, cf; Hawkins, 1b; Knelpp, rf; Campbell, 3b; Dowdy, lf; Hall, c; Tally, p.
Annaheim "Bill" players: Pendleton, ss; B. Callan, c; G. Callan, cf; Ramage, 1b; D. Bush, 2b; Hawkins, lf; R. Bush, 3b; Callahan, rf;
There was a great wrestling show staged at Fullerton last evening, one of the best shows since our Roy Mabee quit the game. The one aud only 'Bool' Montana was very much in evidence. He gave the great Ad Santel a great run for him money in fact 'Bool' got away with the big end of the purse. Ad was to throw him twice in one hour and failed to pin the movie star once.
The match from beginning to end was chuck full of the 'Bool' rough stuff. Ad can play a rough hand too and between them the fans were in went their limit bat.
The fans that show was given Ad Santel and up in an finish would be a mat and our Roy Mr. to be in tip-top 'Bool' then the tion of his throw the movies.
Mr. O'Hagen had the coast Bert Collaum

Tagging All the Bases
(By I. N. S.)
Pittsburgh pitchers proved simple problems in hits and runs, the Giants made it two straight over the Pirates 6 to 1.
The Cards found the Braves so easy for a 10 to 4 victory that they used an entire team of substitutes before the game ended.
The Reds went into second place by defeating the Phillies 6 to 2 and 9 to 6.
Hoyt pitched pretty baseball, Babe Ruth got four hits in four times up and the Yanks won their second straight from the White Sox 3 to 1.
Grabbing a double header 7 to 3 and 5 to 1, in celebration of the Red Sox sale, for over a million, the Tigers went into a tie for third place with the Athletics.
WREN, NESTING IN BANK
SOUNDS BURGLAR ALARM
KENTON, Ohio, July 12.—Armed with shotguns and rifles, police rushed to the offices of the Kenton Savings Bank and Trust Co. when a burglar alarm was sounded. Search revealed that the safe and equipment in the bank were intact. Further investigation, however, disclosed that a wren, which had built its nest in the mechanism of the alarm device, accidentally set it in motion. The burned body of the bird was found within the box, beside its nest.

STATE PRINTERY
READY IN FORTNIGHT
SACRAMENTO, July 12.—California's new million dollar printery is nearing completion and the work of moving the equipment from the old printing office to the new structure is now in progress.
Despite the fact that work was temporarily held up by a strike of plasterers, electricians and carpenters, State Printer Frank Smith said that the building will be ready for occupancy, within the next two weeks.
The strike was called as a protest against the use of a spraying machine in painting the interior of the building.

The fans that attended last night's show was given a double main event. It surely would be worth while to see Ad Santel and 'Bool' Montana hook up in an finish match. Still better would be a match between the 'Bool' and our Roy Mabee. Roy would have to be in tip-top shape to handle the 'Bool' then there would be a question of his throwing the ugly man of the movies.
Mr. O'Hagen of little old New York, had the coast middleweight champ, Bert Colima, on the run all the way in their fight at Vernon Tuesday evening. Colima has been knocking all the would bes gally west for months and to have him run from a man of his weight was a big surprise to his large following. The Mexicans are great fighters until they run up against a champion then they just can not stand up and give their all.
This is the day of the big fight. Tonight we will know if Willard can really come back or not. We have a dinner bet on the big cow puncher but we feel that Firpo is the better man. If Old Jess gets that right upper cut to working then Mr. Firpo had better watch out. On the other hand there is no one going to last long with the Argentine Bull a clubbing them with his tremendous fists. This is not a fight of champions it is a contest of two brute forces. Take your pick.
FLAGS AT HALF-MAST FOR DEAD CANINE
AUGUSTA, Maine, July 12. Considerable criticism has been voiced here by the G. A. R. and other military organizations over the declaration of Governor Bercival Baxter recently that he would esteem it an honor when "his time comes" to have the same Capitol flags that were lowered for his dog, Garry, lowered for him.
Governor Baxter ordered the flags on the state house at half-mast when his pet dog, Garry, died.
In a statement defending his action the Governor said:
"It was my desire and my plan to have the flags lowered during the period of Garry's journey homeward to the graves of his ancestors at my island home, and this desire was fulfilled and this plan executed."
"It may be that the comments made upon my action will arouse our people to a new realization of their responsibilities to dumb animals. If this be so one of my purposes will have been accomplished.

A "Clearance Sale" is unnecessary here because of the fact that goods are constantly moving—coming and going—never remaining in our Store long enough to grow old and undesirable.
Any other kind of "sale" is largely a "make-believe," a storekeeping method tabooed by progressive merchants.

MORE JAP BABIES IN STATE THAN WHITES
SACRAMENTO, July 12—Textifying to the rapidity with which Japanese are settling in certain parts of the state and confirming reports of the State Board of Health that the Jap birth rate far exceeds that of Caucasian races, figures were received here today which show that during last year the actual number of Nipponese births in certain Southern California districts exceeded the white births.
PIMPLES BLACKHEADS ENLARGED PORES
Hokara Wonderful New Treatment—Quickly Clears Skin
Don't envy every good complexion you see, and wish for something that would give your skin the flush and beauty of youth, but go today and get a jar of Hokara—the cream that quickly assists and stimulates nature in restoring dry faded cheeks to their normal healthy charm and beauty.
There is no excuse for your skin to look tired and drawn. Keep the texture of the skin tissues smooth and fine, the pores so they will breathe new life into your skin, and the blood vessels active to add color to the cheeks.
A gentle daily massage with Hokara stimulates the skin texture, clears the pores—and the dead black skin and dirt just roll away. Try this with a little Hokara—even after you have washed your hands and face. It's a test worth trying.
People who have used Hokara for 30 years have found it to be healing, antiseptic and remarkable in quickly relieving any form of skin trouble—no matter how severe. Hokara is safe and quite different in that it contains no grease, lead or mercury. It tends to keep the skin soft, natural and refreshed.
