LONG BEACH TEEMS WITH NEW GUSHERS
By Ellwood J. Munger
The past week was a memorable one with the oil producers at Long Beach. The field teemed with new productions and records for both depth and output were made by several of the companies. Perhaps the most notable achievement is the well of the General Petroleum Co. drilled on the Block-Signal property. This well finished at 5430 enjoys the destination of being the deepest producer of oil in the American oil field. It is understood that the world record for deep production is held by some wells in the Roumanian field producing at a depth of 5600 feet. It is the opinion that before very long California operators will be putting wells on production at 6000 feet. The deepest producer in America Block-Signal No. 1 is making 8500 barrels of 30.9 gravity oil. It was necessary to put in 1500 feet of McVoy screen pipe to take care of the oil bearing zone in this great producer, and with that amount of formation to draw upon the well should make one of the longest lived producers in the field.
Among the independents that got new production the past week at Long Beach is the Bartholomae Oil Syndicate completing No. 3 a 2000 barrel well. This producer was drilled to 2943 and is making a 26 gravity product. The addition of No. 3 gives this little company a piece production. The Bartholomae Oil Syndicate has two additional wells drilling.
The Bush-Verbis Oil Co. continues to add to its output of crude. This company's recent completion was a 3500 barrel well on the Barns property. Barns No. 1 was drilled to 4555 and is producing a 26 gravity oil. On the Bess property the Bush-Verbis Oil Co. has No. 2 down 4650 and it is scheduled for the company's next producer.
Joseph Dabney figured heavily in the big business of the Long Beach area.

NOTICE TO P
The price of not justify the ing my entire 100¢ tons at a ducement to
gives this little company a nice production. The Bartholomae Oil Syndicate has two additional wells drilling.
The Bush-Verhis Oil Co. continues to add to its output of crude. This company's most recent completion was a 3500 barrel well on the Barns property. Barns No. 1 was drilled to 4555 and is producing a 26 gravity oil. On the Bess property the Bush-Verhis Oil Co. has No. 2 down 4650 and it is scheduled for the company's next producer.
Joseph Dabney figured heavily in the big things of the Long Beach field when he brought in a 7000 barrel well. The Dabney well now the largest of the Syndicate's group was completed at 5001 feet and is flowing 25 gravity oil. Arthur Delaney a former Petroleum Midway superintendent is doing the heavy end for Dabney at Long Beach and during the year that he has had charge of the development has made a splendid record.
The Fred B. Foster Co. is beginning to get the stride of the successful oil producer. This past week witnessed the completion of Foster No. 42 at 4007 a 2600 barrel well. Foster No. 46 started off with an initial production of 3000 barrels. The well now has a settled production and it is believed it will be a heavy dividend earner.
Operators are eagerly awaiting the going on production of the Henderson Petroleum Syndicates Mills No. 1. The Mills well has been figuring as an outpost well of the northeast section and property owners are rather anxious to see the well in action. Mills No. 1 stopped drilling at 5000 feet and had a number of good showings from 4800 feet on and should make a nice well.
H. N. Patten a private operator completed a 2500 barrel well during the latter part of the week. The well is the first one to be completed by Patton and was finished at 4127. The new producer is making 24 gravity oil.
Prouett-Troupe stockholders will be interested in knowing that they now have an oil well. No. 1 has just been completed at 4273 and is registering 1500 barrels of 27 gravity oil. No. 2 has been standing at 4065 feet for some little time and now that No. 1 is a god well will go ahead.

FARMERS TO WAR ON RECKLESS AUTOISTS
(By International News Service)
LOS ANGELES, June 22—Roadhogs had better give the Sastiac region a wide birth, it was indicated her when the Automobile Club of Southern California made public a warning latter received from a prominent rancher of that section who declared that his rancher neighbors are arming for a war on motorists who drive recklessly, smash into farmer's wagons and laugh and speed on without stopping to render aid.
Police authorities have pointed out that the farmers will be within their rights if they shoot at motorists under such conditions.
Such collisions are reported to have been frequent in the vicinity of San Luis, San Fernando and other valley points.
KICKED BY MULE
D. Landa, employed on the Messinger ranch near Fullerton, was kicked in the jaw by a mule last night, and brot to Anaheim for surgical attention. An X-ray disclosed the injury was very serious.
