NEW HOUSE MOVES 75 CARS VALENCIAS Shipment of approximately 73 cars of valencias since the valencia season began was announced today by R. R. Rutledge, district manager and buyer of the Orange-co Valencia Co. The plant on the Union Pacific tracks has a capacity of three cars per day. Rutledge, who is associated with General Manager O. W. Ludlow, regards the concern as already on a promising basis. An elevator is being installed and driveways improved. Later the railway, which owns the building, will install sheds in which to store fruit and supplies as they arrive. The plant is thoroughly modern, with Stebler-Parker Co. machinery thrust out. This Riverside concern has equipped most houses in the county. A force of approximately 40, including pickers, is employed by the new organization. Payment of cash on delivery of fruit. Rutledge regards as responsible in part for the concern's growing business. Recently Rutledge estimated within six boxes the amount of fruit in a given grove. In another instance, he estimated within 10 boxes. He said today his firm had paid not less than three nor more than four cents net to the grower for fruit on the tree. The brands are Billy, Black Jack and Bear, the choiceness being in the order named. It is hoped to handle lemons before the season is over. G. & L. LEASE M. and L. Munger Contrary to the report that the Brady 8 Well Syndicate had abandoned its Santa Fe Springs holdings comes the announcement that a test of the 5340 foot hole will be made soon, and that properties in proven areas of the Long Beach field and Midway Sunset field have been secured and that these will be developed immediately. The Brady 8 Well Syndicate No. 1 during the course of drilling encountered some promising showings at 4600 feet and it is these that the management believe will make an oil well. It is the intention to set a string of 6½ casing and try out the well in a few days. The expansion program of the Brady Organization includes the taking of an acre and a half of property at Long Beach located in the proven district. The acre is located between Center and Frankfort on Elm and is close to Keck Syndicate 5-1. Drilling is now in progress. The Long Beach division of the Brady 8 will be known as the Brady Sure Shot. In the Midway Sunset field the Brady Organization has secured some 80 acres of property from the Plantation Oil Company. At the present time the line of the property is within 40 feet of production and only 2700 feet from the famous Lakeview gusher. The program calls for 20 wells on this 80 acre tract. The Brady 8 well Syndicate will do some wildcasting in Contra Costa Co., eight hundred acres of property have been secured, and the property has been passed upon favorably by James M. Schuman a San Francisco geologist. With the securing of these properties and two of them in absolutely proven territory, the Brady 8 seems to have a future assured. The north line of the Santa Fe Springs field got another Jolt this past week when the Amalgamated Oil Co., quit drilling on the Berton well at 5269. Aside from minor showings found at 2600 and 2800 feet, this well never showed anything worth while. The Wilshire Oil Company has succeeded in getting the Ambassador Baker No. 1 back on production. Aside from minor showings found at 2600 and 2800 feet, this well never showed anything worth while. The Wilshire Oil Company has succeeded in getting the Ambassador Baker No. 1 back on production. Baker No. 1 at 4700 was an $300 barrel well when water developed, believed to be caused by a split in the water string. The leak has been repaired and the well is back doing 1500 barrels. The Coalinga-Mohawk completed a nice well on the Santa Fe Mutual property at 4690 feet. The Mohawk-Mutual well started off at 9000 bbls. the Fullerton Oil Company will test cut some of the showings found in the Gum Grove well at 4800 feet. At 5100 feet, the bottom, Gum Grove No. I did not show any encouragement and it is doubtful if the Fullerton Company will make any more hole. In the central east section of the Springs field Geo. G. Getty figured with a 4500 barrel well at No. 9. The new producer is making 34.5 gr oil and has settled down to consistent production.
