INCREASE RECORDS OF IDENTIFICATION
In spite of the careful selection of cases such as felonies and high misdemeanors and exclusion of vagrue cases unless the persons involved were suspended of felonies, the number of identification records made by Deputy Sheriff Herman Zabel continues to exceed those of corresponding periods last year.
Between July 1, 1922, and 11 a.m. today, 725 records were made, compared with 713 between July 1, 1921 and June 30, 1922. With an average of say 60 per month, the total for the year ending June 30, will be close to 800 and may go over that number.
Similarly, but to a less extent, the records made during the first five months of this year amounts to 326 against 321 last year.
The lack of help in the Sheriff's office has been an important factor in cutting down the volume of records made.
No county in the State now can identify a suspect more quickly or thoroughly than Orange County, unless it is a matter of communicating with the State Bureau of Identification at Sacramento, and then the only time lost is in communication itself.

New Screen Celebrity In Romantic Mystery
The girl who was honored as understudy for Mary Pickford will be formally presented in a drama of romance and mystery, set in the fascinating Greenwich Village of New York City, at the United Theater, beginning tonight.
Manager Murray says that he has a “winner” in this attraction and that the sensation caused by the reports of the discovery of this new star and the publication of her portraits in the newspapers will be nothing compared with the thrill that the film fans will get when they see Louise Du Pre on the screen. He says that she is positively exquisite and a worthy pupil of the master.
Entirely aside from the attraction that the new star herself holds to satisfy the curiosity of the public, the picture is an absorbing story of a wail of the tenements that is taken into the artists colony as a model where Fate is both kind and unkind to her. How she inspires a great masterpiece that is the means to fame and fortune for the artist and the entering wedge into society for
