Boys' Day in Industry Boys Take Over Directorship of Big Corporation How many of us have called on some big executive and in his private office wondered just how it would feel to be in that man's shoes? All of us during Boys' Week in New York they celebrated the "Boys' Day in Industry" and all the boys in this picture realized just how it feels to be a big executive, for they were elected to run the J. C. Penney Company, the largest chain of department stores in the world. They made a record in their jobs and now everyone is talking about them—an eighteen year old President, a sixteen year old Treasurer and a sixteen year old Sales Manager too. Can you imagine an Educational Director of a large company as fifteen years old? And he was good! They are all in the picture and this letter shows how they felt after their experience (and, incidentally, there are few "grown ope" who could write a better letter): New York, N. Y. May 4th, 1923. Penney Company, I realized more than ever the responsibility that rests upon our executives' shoulders. I realize that this position was gained by hard work and study, and know that the future holds the same attractions for me, if I do my share of hard work and study. I thank you for this opportunity and this glimpse into the future reality.
