ORANGE PYRAMID STRIKING EXHIBIT The feature exhibit of the Anaheim Citrus Fruit Assn., one of the winners in its class, received a lot of admiration yesterday by spectators, who pronounced it the most stricly Egyptian exhibit of any kind on the floor. The exhibit, which had not been completed in time, for a complete description along with the others in the Plain Dealer, represents a pyramid adorned in Egyptian fashion. On one of the outside faces appears the figure of a sphinx, on another an Egyptian temple. About the base at the bottom is a border of Egyptian figures. A globe of orange in each corner lights the exterior at night. As the entrance a pretty girl shows the visitor to a couple of real mummies. AGED GRAANDMOTHER DIES W. C. Barker, connected with the Studebaker agency, received word of the death of his aged grandmother, Mrs. Majorie Blevens, 82, which occurred suddenly at her home in Lansing, N. Carolina. Mrs. Blevens, who has been a widow since the Civil war, is the mother of ten living children, all of whom are among the emplaty men and women of their communities. GOV. INVITES HARDING SACRAMENTO, May 24—Governor Richardson today wired President Harding asking that he visit Sacramento on his trip through California. The governor said: "I do not want to interfere in any way or add to your many burdens, but I suggest that on your trip through California you stop a brief time at the capital city. RUN FOR HOUR WITH CRANKCASE DRAINED An oil which leaves a film of so-called graphite behind it that protects the motor while in operation for an hour after the crankcase has been drained—this is Oldag. Charles H. Turnbull, Oldag representative from Los Angeles, provided it today when he had the crankcase of a 1921 Studebaker drained at Harry D. Riley's garage and the car run from 1:30 to 2:30 this afternoon, without the glue's getting warm or being damaged. The reason why Oldag does this is that the paraffine base carries greasy, oily graphite so-called, which dills the sharp teeth of the surfaces and prevents friction. The experiment has been tried successfully on days in Imperial Valley when it was 130 degrees. PRISON TO UNTIL What's a lil' how? Admittedly, costs a heap of glisten on the hand. Admittedly, it's a white rock that costs a heap of coin and has a wicked glisten on the third finger of the left hand. It looms up like an arc light in a dungeon. Some men, looking at an engagement ring, see a reflection of themselves in the brilliant stone and get all swelled up with an idea that annexing a festing place for that gem on a white hand means they've gotten an iron clad deed to a human soul. The hero of George Barr McCutcheon's romantic novel, "The Prisoner," formerly titled "Castle Craneycrow," felt about as much awe for the girl's new solitaire as the prizefight manager in H. C. Witwer's "The Leather Pushers," who regarded engagement diamonds as something to "hock" on rainy days. The Universal film version of "The Prisoner," starring Herbert Rawlinson under Jack Conaway's direction and with Elfeen Percy, June Elvidge, Bertram Grasby and ten other famous players in support, comes to the United Theatre tomorrow and Saturday. On the same program will be a Bobbie Dunn comedy, "Salt Air" and Pathe Review. HOME FROM HOSPITAL Mrs. Vina Matthews, daughter of Mr. Thompkins, affectionately known over Anabeim as "Dad", was brought home this morning from Orange co hospital where she has been under the care of Dr. Zaiser, a personal friend of her father's. Mrs. Matthews is recovering nicely from a recent operation for blood tumor.
