BUENA PARK, May 1.—The 12th Annual Convention of the Orange County Federated Clubs met at York Hills on Friday. A fine dinner was served at the Methodist church at noon. Both the sessions were filled with interesting speakers. Those in attendance from the Park were Mesdames N. D. McDowell, Leo Harvey W. E. Shaw, J. F. Greenwalt, L. J. Robeson and H. E. Warren. The Chamber of Commerce met at the Community Hall on Friday evening. The change in the meeting place was made no account of an entertainment being given at the school hall. Meetings will be twice a month in the future, meeting on the first and third Fridays of each month. Work is under way to have the 8th street opened through to Grand avenue. The Southern Pacific will be asked to install a wig wag at the crossing here. Work was started on clean-up week on Saturday. The first thing done was hauling the cans away. Weeds will be burned on, the vacant lots and things cleaned up in general. A musical program was given at the school hall by Miss Lucy Wolbott of Long Beach. Miss Wolcott was accompanied at the piano by Miss Putman. Candy was sold and a neat sum realized toward the carpet fund. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Calaway spent Thursday at Huntington Beach. Ida Wey Frank and Fred Hartman are all ill with measles. L. S. and Harvey Calaway have each purchased half acres on the Allen Misenheimer and will move to the new location soon. Mrs. Brikins of Eighth Street motivate on Thursday. Shoppers to Los Angeles on Thursday included W. B. Shaw, Mrs. O. R. Dano and Mrs. L. J. Robeson.
