As for the senseless Marathon dance, stop it!
It is not the proper way to promote the right through riot.
Agriculture is a basic industry, hence should be encouraged.

Americans should begin systematically to replace their noble forests before they are decimated completely.
It's a safe surmise that Warren G. Harding does not think so highly of the United States as he once did.
The greatest battle that the individual fights—if he thinks enough to fight at all—is to attain unto moderation in habits of life.
A perfect lady never chews tobacco in public or shoots any man unless he is her husband.
America should not be laggard in efforts to promote the peace of the world.
Eat more farm produce. Nourish yourself and prolong your life. And by consuming more farm produce, you will encourage the farmer to grow more grain and other products. There is no use of the farmer producing if the people do not consume what he produces.
We are quite accustomed to our place as one of the fashion centers of the world; but even so, Gotham is plumming herself some upon the announcement that right here in our own city are being made some of the lovely things for the Irosscau of Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon who is to marry the Duke of York, on the 26th of this month.
RED CROSS TO END WORK
Emergency relief work by the American Red Cross in Greece is to terminate next June 30.
Secretary of State Hughes gives official notice of this to representatives of the British, French, Italian and Greek governments.
Secretary Hughes suggests that a co-operative agreement be reached among the nations interested which would make it possible for thousands of refugees "to be absorbed as promptly as possible into the normal economic life of the country where they find themselves."
On the part of the United States government Secretary Hughes assures the British, French and Italian governments that co-operation may be depended upon from this side of the Atlantic in some "constructive plan" for permanent relief in the Near East. It is the purpose, however, to end the emergency relief work soon if that quarter of the world.
It should be feasible for the countries directly interested in that part of the world to work together to put an end to the condition which call for outside relief contributions. There is no good reason why Southeastern Europe and Western Asia should be filled with suffering refugees. If persecutions there were ended; if the war spirit were eliminated; and if the countries and peoples there settled down to peaceful, productive pursuits, there would be no need of our side aid for the people of the Near East.
Leave to the Almighty to control the universe. Humans may presume to know better how to direct the universal realm. But they conceit blinds them to their puniness in the face of the Infinite.
There is more grim battling than gay frolic ing in life. If one leads a serious existence. By the struggle should not make one sour. Ratha it should give zest to living, and make its joie the more appreciated.
The human face oftentimes is an index character—but not always. Countenances, some instances, either are deceptive or inscrutable. Appearance may deceive, but it is worth and deeds which test men and women.

TOWN IN REVIEW
The price of raw sugar went up here again. The price is now as raw as the sugar.
The reason there is no much scandal made is because so many are willing to carry it.

PREIDA'S FOLLIES
Her husband could not afford a yacht. Much less keep it up. Everyone knew this.
Still you couldn't afford to drop them. I was invited to a dinner. For the naming of the yacht.
The other man of the triangle was there. It was a rare opportunity. What would not have taken advantage of it? I suggested a fitting name.
"Death."
Everyone shuddered and inquired. Just, a proposal, I answered. The wages of sin.
NEW YORK LETTER BY LUCY JEANNE PRICE
Times Square isn't exactly the spot one would expect to be the scene of a rural Maydance, but such it will be if the Ziegfieldlies girls are successful in their plea to M Hylan. They have asked permission to erect pole in that hub of the theatrical universe; caper merrily about it at the noon hour. May first with ribbons and white dresses all that goes with a properly conceived Pole dance. It would seem a heartless and romantic city which would deny such a silent request.
New Yorkers can't be modestly silent in face of claims about the charms of other stores. Some times that native pride is disastrous. Rockford, of this city, was serving a term in the House of Correction in Boston. It short term for a mild and first offense law and order. But he kept talking so about the superior system existent in Singapore and how much better it was than the Borough place that attendants became suspicious, loing up his record and found he was a "pumper."
What artistic crimes have to be committed the name of city efficiency! It has been necessary to widen Fifty-Seventh street since became so popular as a shopping region for that widening, great slabs have had sliced off the buildings in the block 'be Fifth and Sixth avenues. No one wept when buy windows were taken old brown fronts; but when the magnificent example French architecture, the home of Mrs. Cius Vanderbilt, Sr. has to be pared away does seem somehow tragic. Not because landmark as the home of a late captain nance, but because of the glory of the belfitself. Incidentally, the widening has run in a queer custom. Instead of widening hicle part of the street, they have wished sidewalks, and since it was the which needed more room, they accommodate them by letting autos park themselves sidewalk.

CADILLAC FACTORY SPELLS EFFICIENCY
Few people realize the vast equipment in buildings and machinery, and the big army of men which are required, for producing a motor car of the highest quality. The unique history of the Cadillac organization bring out this fact in a most striking manner, says the Cadillac Garage Co. Cadillac and Hupmobile distributors.
When a Detroit manufacturer of high grade machinery opened a small shop with a handful of picked men 28 years ago, the institution that became the Cadillac Motor Car Company was founded.
Years passed and that small shop grew into 77 small plants scattered in various parts of the motor city. The number employed had increased in proportion. In 1951 most of these productive forces of the company were gathered into the big, new plant of the west side of the city.
In addition to this big, main factory, which has frontage on the Michigan Central railroad, the Cadillac building equipment includes three foundries and a body plant situated in other parts of the city, and a force of 8000 craftsmen employed in producing the cars.
The present factory covering more than 49 acres of land comprises seven great building units, divided into manufacturing and assembly division. It was constructed after several years of planning and preparation and represents the bets thought of factory engineers of the country.
To keep the air fresh and pure, ventilating fans can force 768,000 cubic feet of air into the buildings every minute. In the buildings where it is needed the air is changed five times every hour. Side walls almost completely of glass bring the work of every man within 30 feet or less of daylight. In those parts of the plant where the most exacting accuracy is required there is but one...
