GENUINE PARTS PAY: HERE'S PROOF The recent results of a long series of tests in automobile manufacturers laboratories in using anything but genuine parts in such service replacements as may be necessary. For example, in Dodge Brothers laboratory at Detroit a test was recently applied to rear axle shafts. The genuine Dodge Brothers axle shaft withstood six complete turns in the test for torsion strength, while the beat of several counterfeit shafts withstood only 1.2-4 turns. In testing steering knuckles the genuine bolts bent double without breaking when put under pressure. When the same pressure was applied to counterfeit bolts, they shapped without exception, showing brittleness and defective core. In the opinion of Charley Mann, local Dodge Brothers dealer, such tests show very plainly why it is the best policy for motorists to depend upon service stations approved by the factory building their car, for any service parts that may be required for such replacement work as may be necessary. It is only here that parts can be guaranteed as being genuine parts. Automobile manufacturers build their parts for service work as well as they know how because it is absolutely necessary in order to maintain the car owners good will. FRANKLIN OUTPUT AT NEW HIGH MARK More Franklin cars were produced in the month of March than were ever turned out at the Syracuse factory in any single month before, according to William Dunk, production manager. Production for the month aggregated 1,501 cars. This is at the rate of 18,000 cars per year, according to figures received by the Bob White Co., Nash and Franklin distributors in Northern Orange county. Production for the first quarter of this year set up a new high mark for Franklin, exceeding by 200 cars its previous best quarter's record made in the first quarter of 1926. Production will continue at the present rate of 60 cars daily. Bevillard Program Tonight is Notable An unusually elaborate program will be offered by A. Bevillard of the Anaheim Ignition Depot, South Los Angeles street, over his big aerial tonight if for no other reason than that today is the first anniversary of the KHJ or Los Angeles Times program. Sammie's Sisters, flugel horn and mello horn accompanied by Ruth Helstand life and drum corps and military band are some of the features. Col Arthur Williams and Col J. M. Partello will deliver addresses and there will be the usual news items. An ever widening circle of Anaheimers are availing themselves of Bevillard's service. WEST BROS. The object in the development of the Brown Reflector has been to produce by the most efficient means possible, a light of extreme width and uniform daylight quality, at the same time to so direct it that all the rays shall be at or below the horizontal. This has been accomplished by direct reflection rather than by the use of a reflector and lens or other light absorbing device. That this method is sound is evident from two facts: First, no light is absorbed or cut off. Second, a closer control of the light is possible than can be obtained in any other way. The lens which produces a satisfactory light with one reflector may, when combined with a reflector of a different make, give an entirely different result.
