This unhappy prediction is made by many close students of the European situation. Some even predict that, within a generation Europe will see another first class grade A full-bloom war. Whether or not another big war comes to Europe, it seems almost certainty that Guerilla warefare will go on for years. The Franco-German border probably will be the center of such hospitalities as long as the French stay in the Ruhr. The Polish frontiers present another trouble zone. The Lithuanians and Poles have failed to reach an agreement and restless spirits on both sides seem inclined to take matters into their own hands. In the Ukraine region there is still a "no man's land" which is a bone of contention. Galicia has its own unsettled problems and here again is another smouldering volcano. The Balkans have long been known as the "cockpit of Europe"; Russia has not been entirely pacified; the Near East, both European and Asiatic, is still in a state of flux. There is hardly a day that does not bring its new "war" to Europe. There are no signs of a permanent cure from these Guerilla wars.
