Staff Correspondent) SAN FRANCISCO, April 12—So completely have astronomical observations taken last September in Australia borne out the Einstein theory of relativity, that scientists connected with Lick Observatory of the University of California, who made the test, will turn their attention to other astronomical problems. Dr. W. W. Campbell, director of the observatory announced today before leaving for Washington to address the national academy of sciences on his findings. The test just made involved photographing stars surrounding the sun at the time of total eclipse—the only occasion on which this could be done. Two sets of plates were made, one in the night skies of Tahiti in the South Seas, the other at Waltal, Australia, at the time of the eclipse. Dr. Campbell and Dr. Trumper have completed independent measurements and subjected them to rigorous mathematical treatment. Jack Coffman left last night over the Santa Fe for Kingfisher, Okla. Mrs. J. R. Pollock of Fullerton underwent a cranial operation yesterday afternoon at the Fullerton hospital. Her child was a daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Corcoran of Fullerton leave tonight over the Santa Fe for a combined business and pleasure trip to New York. Floyd Palmer left yesterday over the Santa Fe for Kansas City. The Fullerton Community Shop will hold a card party Friday afternoon at the Fullerton Club rooms, the proceeds to go to the baby clinic. The off workers union will hold an open meeting in Sewell hall in Brea this evening. The Fullerton W. C. T. U. yesterday enjoyed a pot luck dinner and an elaborate program. The union is getting ready for the convention at the Fullerton M. E. church April 17-18. Blanche Pierce left Tuesday over the Santa Fe for Rock River, Wyoming. Mrs. R. Whititken of Whittler and Mrs. Chas. Stephens of Brea underwent operations at the Fullerton hospital yesterday. BIG AGGREGATION OF MOVIE STARS The biggest aggregate of motion picture stars who have ever appeared on a local stage were present last night at the California theater, when the premier of "Main Street", moved version of the well known novel by Sinclair Lewis was presented. There were Monte Blue, Alan Hale Miss Dupont, Jack and Sam Warner, Johnny Heinz, etc., comprising many members of the cast. Monte Blue was a sort of master of ceremonies and introducer extraordinary, and told how the picture was made. He said his stomach became asbestos lined during the snowstorm scene. Johnny Heinz, meanwhile hovered around the wings and poked fun at his fellow actors. "Johnny Rappe", come here and unwrap yourself" he shouted, but Rappe failed to show up. Also others. The announcement of many other movie treats coming were made by Blue, and Hale. Hale looks just like his movie self. The theater, in spite of the longer shows, was packed at both performances.
