The largest crowd that has ever attended a shoot yet. Among the visitors was a delegation from the Vernon Gun club who spoke in the highest terms of the grounds and sky line of the local club and signified their intention of visiting here as often as possible. Mrs. I. Greenfield who was the third high lady shooter of the United States last year was with the Vernon sound. A squad of shooters from Whittier also attended, and said they were organizing a club there and were anxious to see the local grounds and the way the shoots were conducted. Dominguez has received the sad news of the death of her aunt, Mrs. Sylvia Dickensen, and will go tomorrow to Sierra Madre to attend the funeral services. The local lodge will meet at the Elks Club house at 6 o'clock, and will depart for Santa Ana in a body. Santa Ana lodge has prepared a splendid program for this event, which includes a banquet for all visitors. HEARTY WELCOME TO BETTY COMPSON Honolulu declared a part holiday to welcome Betty Compson and the members of the Paramount company, who voyaged to the island city to produce the star's current Paramount picture, "The White Flower," which is the feature at the California Theatre. Adorned with beautiful and fragrant flowers, Miss Compson was greeted by Mrs. Julia Crawford Ivers, author and director of the story, who preceded Miss Compson and the other players to Honolulu; members of the production staff, and a group of Hawaiian musicians. This party motorboated out to quarantine to meet the star and the members of the cast. At the dock a huge crowd of enthusiastic "fans" were gathered to catch a glimpse of Miss Compson in person. As the star stepped ashore native musicians played. CHARTER KIWANIS MEMBER SPEAKER The speaker tomorrow at the Kiwanis club will be a charter member of the Kiwanis of Baltimore, Md., Rev. Rufus J. Wyckoff. Dr. Wyekoff has just completed an auto tour of the United States from Baltimore west an special correspondent of the Baltimore Sun. He says that when TRAINING DAY FOR SCOUT CHIEFS SAT. Regular quarterly scout leaders' Training Day will be held in Orange Park, Saturday, March 31st. It is expected that from 50 to 78 scout-masters and troop committeemen will be present at that conference. Field activities will be taken up and each man learn from experts more of the details of Scouting. Wednesday, March 28th, regular monthly meeting of the Dist. Court of Honor is scheduled to be held in Anaheim. Mr. C. C. Smith is chairman of this Court of Honor. At a recent meeting of the Court of Honor for District No. 1 and No. 2, of which Mr. R. R. Miller is chairman, second class badges were awarded to Bernard Davis, Bernard Miller, Vince Alton; and Anton Hammond of Santa Ana Troop No. 2 Ernest Haynes, Laguna Beach No. 1 and Alva Gedney of Garden Grove. First class badges were awarded to Harold Hall, Tustin and Russell Hind Laguna Beach. Merit badges were awarded to Don Wilcox, Laguna Beach, Earl Vinson, Tustin, Dudley Crawford, Tustin; Walter Huntley Tustin, Chas. Ehrhorn, Newport; Weston Jay, Newport, and Robert Lowry, Orange. At a recent conference between the joint committee of the Y. M. C. A. and the Boy Scouts, an earnest effort was put forth to somewhat coordinate the work of these two agencies in dealing with the boyhood of Orange county. It was pointed out at the meeting that there were 6000 boys in Orange county between the ages of twelve and twenty-one. Of that number, each of the two agencies were reaching approximately 1000 boys—Scouting 1000 boys between the ages of twelve and twenty-one. It was also determined that there were not over fifty boys in the entire county who held membership in both organizations, and while no definite policy has been developed, it was the consensus of opinion that an effort should be made by both organizations, upon receiving the application of a boy, to determine whether his personality and its personal requirements would be best met in on- CHARTER KIWANIS MEMBER SPEAKER The speaker tomorrow at the Kiwanis club will be a charter member of the Kiwanis of Baltimore, Md.. He is at the White Temple for each night this week and will preach at both service Easter. SANTA FE SPRINGS LEADS OIL FIELDS With a daily output of 150,000 barrels the Santa Fe Springs field last week led all California fields. Furthermore, the oil is of the highest gravity of any produced in the state. It is gravity that brings the returns. Five, six and seven-thousand barrel wells are becoming the common thing, and Santa Fe, while breaking its own records repeatedly, has had the largest number of big producers. Robertson, Santa Ana electrician who fatally shot himself in Santa Ana canyon Saturday morning, left an estate estimated at "more than $10,000" and bringing an income of $5,000, the petition for probate of the will filed today shows. The principal item, while the estate is not now described in detail, is the J. G. Robertson Electrical Company. The widow, Margaret N. Robertson, receives everything. The will specifies that if the widow did not survive him, the children should receive the estate, share and share alike. They are: Orlyn Nelson Robertson, 22; Fred Wesley Robertson, 18 and Nina June Robertson, an adopted child five. The ages given MOOSE AFTER 500 NEW MEMBERS HERE Arriving here for a protracted stay, J. F. McCracken, deputy supervisor of the Loyal Order of Moose, will start tomorrow night a campaign for 500 members of the local lodge. The lodge already has approximately 200 members. McCracken has been transferred from Kansas to Southern California and will work in several cities of the outland. He has taken an apartment with his family at $28 South Lemon street. McCracken, who is known as "The Little Giant of Moonedom," added 250 members to the lodge at Arkansas City, Arkansas, before coming here. INFANT BURied SATURDAY The infant of Mr. and Mrs. J. Albterni, living in the south part of Anaheim, was buried Saturday in Holy Cross cemetery after short services. The body was cared for by the Huddle Funeral Home.
