DAHLMAN RANCH PICTURED IN MOVIE FEATURE MOVING picture fans have a treat in store when the L. Dahijan ranch, on Olive-rd, will be shown in a feature picture entitled "The Other Side," which will be shown in an Anaheim theater in a few weeks. The picture was taken by a Hollywood company, and directed by Hugh Dierker, cousin of H. F. Dierker, of Anaheim. Mrs. Hugh Dierker wrote the scenario, this being the successor of "Dawn," a picture with the setting at Capistrano mission and which was successfully shown throughout the east. "The Other Side," is the story of the struggle and ultimate success of a young couple, with Fritzi Brunette, David Butler in the leading roles. Junior Coagland, the small son in the story, accompanied by his mother and several assistants, formed a company of about 20. Scenes in the grove, in the pergola, on the front porch, and of the approach to the ranch were taken. As these scenes conclude the picture, it is hoped that the time until the showing will be brief. E. A. True, formerly manager of the Bake-Rite Bakery, is now associated with the Anaheim Sanitary Bakery. $50 Reward Thousands at Mich. Picnic The Michigan picnic held yesterday in Sycaomre Park, Los Angeles, called together a crowd estimated between 15,000 and 20,000 persons. Anaheim, of course, was well represented by folk who realize that Michigan is a good state to come from to California and the names of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Tobin, Mr. and Mrs. A. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Adams and Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Schlotter and Mrs. Wm. Law, were found on the register. As the day gave working people a chance to attend the crowd was unusually large and a program suitable for the occasion was heard. The boys band, from one of the Los Angeles dalles played many selections, and vocal music was contributed by talented Wolverines. Miss Colleen Moore, the attractive picture star, whose home was Port Huron, Mich., made a short talk and received due appreciation. The registration from Wayne-co, wherein is located Detroit, was the largest and covered many sheets of the book. Another state picnic will be held next Saturday through some misunderstanding as to dates, and the opportunity will again be given for a day of visiting and pleasure.
