SEEKING AGREEMENT ON COLORADO PACT
Differences among the seven states of the southwest which lie in the Colorado River Basin are to be ironed out in a conference to be held in Santa Barbara in May, under auspices of the League of the Southwest. Recent action of the Arizona legislature makes necessary some revision of the compact which was formulated at Santa Fe, N. M., a few months ago.
It is to be hoped that some satisfactory and practicable agreement may be reached speedily. Delay in starting this highly important work is costly to the whole southwest. It will require many years, at best, to clear up the preliminaries and to put through the great dam project, upon the consummation of which so much of material value to this section depends. The seven states of the Colorado Basin should agree quickly and do their part toward hastening the beginning of this mammoth enterprise.
EASTER VACATION FIRST WEEK IN MONTH
The week following Easter Sunday, April 1, will be observed as vacation week by both high and grammar schools in Anaheim. Many of the out-of-town teachers will visit their homes while the pupils will take advantage of the five days to enjoy early spring picnics and hikes.
