FULLERTON LOSES CASABA PLAYOFF
Fullerton HI boys basketball squad lost to Chino 28 to 22 in the semifinals for the So. Calif. championship game last evening. Fullerton was handicapped by absence of two of the best players thru sickness. Fullerton put up a strong fight but the winning team proved superior throut the fray. Chino casaba shooters were ahead 17 to 12 at the end of the first half. Dominquez and Timberland did stellar work throut.
By this victory, Chino won the right to meet the victor of the Alhambra-Huntington Park battle.
COMMUNITY PARLEYS
WASHINGTON, March 9—Industrial and community conferences will be held in a number of cities, mostly in the south, under the direction of the Commission on the church and social service of the Federal Council of Churches, according to announcement made today.
Conferences will be conducted at Cincinnati, New Orleans, and Kansas City. One has already been held in Norfolk. Chattanooga has asked for a meeting and plans are being discussed for holding conferences in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio later. It is probable that a series of meetings will be held in the southwest beginning at Pueblo and going as far as Sap Dlego.
Dr. Worth M. Tippy, secretary of the Commission, will be accompanied by the Social Service secretaries of several communions.
The plans besides calling for a set program, provide that addresses be given before luncheon clubs, labor tempules, chambers of commerce, social workers' councils, colleges and women's clubs. Among the topics will be: "The Social Program of a Seven-Day Church", "A Concerted Socian Program for a City", "Delinquents", and "The Organization and Administration of a Church Staff."

The person who will not take time to rest, in the midst of strenuous labors, soon may go to everlasting rest in the cemetery.

CHAFING DISH PARTY
Miss Margaret Goldle and her mother entertained at their home on W. Amerige-ave., Fullerton, last evening. The time was spent in playing games and visiting, the purpose being to organize a club. A chafing dish party was served at 11 o'clock. Guests included Ethel Evans, Stanley Berkey, Alberta Oswald, Eddie Stoffal, Gladys Rowland, Charles Peckham and Ted Corcoran.

So. Branch Defeats Whittier Five 37 to 27
The Southern Branch basketball team won its final game in the So. Calif. Conference by defeating the Whittier five, 37 to 27, at Whittler last night. The roet aggregation stepped out in front in the middle of the first period and held the lead until the last ten minutes of play. At half the score stood 20 to 16 in favor of the Poets.
