Mrs. J. A. Walz was called to Los Angeles Monday to be with her mother, Mrs. M. C. Carson who is very ill. She will return the last of the week.
Mr. Arthur Kaylar was a Saturday night dinner guest at the J. W. Ellenberger home.
The entertainment and box social for the Rebekahs at the I. O. O. F. hall last Friday night in Fullerton had several in attendance from Brea—Mr. and Mrs. Elpha and daughter, Mildred; Mrs. Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. H. Winchel, Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Miller, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ellenberger and son Harold.
Mr. Arthur Kayler, Mr. Johnson and several other young men are planning a trip to Africa the latter part of this week.
Mrs. L. A. Fox and Mrs. McIntyre were Anaheim visitors Wednesday to see Mrs. Charles Schmekel.
Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Sutlift, of Laurel Heights, and Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Olmstead and son Karl, were Long Beach visitors to see Frank Hyde and wife last Sunday they went via Santa Fe Springs.
Miss Ruth Thornton visited her mother, Mrs. Thornton in Artesia over the week end.
Mrs. W. M. Gungy and Mrs. D. O. Epperley and daughter Anna Margaret spent Tuesday in Los Angeles on business.
Mrs. J. A.-How, from Long Beach spent last Thursday night with her friends in Brea, Mrs. Kitt Connally and family on South Walnut street.
Mrs. J. Sulivan's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Haynes from Gravette Arkansas, arrived in Brea last Monday evening.

James Zerbe on S. Walnut street was sent to Fullerton hospital on Monday night and Tuesday underwent a mastoid operation. Dr. Stein and his brother performed the operation. It was a successful operation and he is doing nicely.
E. F. James and wife of Hollywood spent the week end with Mrs. Chambers and family on S. Walnut treet.
Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Spring, on Cimmeron street, Los Angeles, were dinner guests of C. S. Taylor and family Sunday.
Mesdames Reynolds and Chambers attended the funeral Monday afternoon in Los Angeles; Mrs. J. M. Monroe the wife of the latter old college professor. Many old students of Downey were in attendance along with the Los Angeles friends.
Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Reynolds made a trip to Imperial and vicinity Wednesday and Thursday.

Mr. T. G. Conner is able to be at work again after several days illness.
Dr. Setin wife and Misses Staten and Simons were among the week end guests at Big Bear to enjoy the skating on the ice. They returned home Monday.

Mr. Wm. Ross from Cincinnati is in Brea for a few days stopping at the H. Senn home on S. Walnut st. No rooms at the hotels or rooming houses, everything over-crowded.
Mrs. A. B. Bowle spent several days in Los Angeles with friends this week, Mrs. C. O. Miller and family.
Little Billie Woodroof is about well again after several days illness.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruno are driving a new Ford touring car.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Bryan of the G and L eLase visited Mrs. Geo. Middleton, Monday afternoon on S. Orange street.
