JOIN THIS ARMY OF CRUSADE AND CARRY ON UNDER THE BANNER OF CIVIC PRIDE. THE VICTORY IS ALREADY WON, BUT A TRUCE CANNOT BE CALLED UNTIL THE ENEMY HAS BEEN ROUTED AND PUT TO FLIGHT. THOSE NAMES ON THIS PAGE REPRESENT THE GENERALS AND THE STRATEGY OF THE LEGIONS OF CIVIC ADVANCEMENT. Admiral and General Wrotenberg (By The Mysterious Cowboy) ARMY AND NAVY DEPARTMENT STORE ARMY AND NAVY DEPARTMENT STORE CUT IN HALF ALL OVER THE STATE THE TITLES WHICH WE ASCRIBE TO MR. WROTENBERG ARE NOT LITERALLY TRUE. WHAT WE MEAN TO SAY IS THAT HE IS THE COMMANDER AND CHIEF OF THE ARMY AND NAVY DEPT. STORE, AT 112 NO. LOS ANGELES STREET, ANAHEIM. After the termination of the World's War, our government found itself with huge stocks, surplus supplies, of clothing articles and many other things, on hand and which it must dispose of, in order that commissary supplies might be reduced to a normal basis. Accordingly these manifold things, in great quantities, were sold to merchants and "Good merchandise for less money"—that is the slogan of this store and a purchaser may verify the statement by calling at their place of business and examining the many articles to be found there, and then to be told of the very reasonable prices that are asked for their wares. Furnishings of all descriptions, shoes, clothing, army goods, suit cases and bags—the place is filled found itself with large stocks, surplus supplies, of clothing articles and many other things, on hand and which it must dispose of, in order that commissary supplies might be reduced to a normal basis. Accordingly these manifold things, in great quantities, were sold to merchants and jobbers throughout the land, and at a figure that made it possible for the dealers to sell them to the public at very attractive costs. The quality was of substantial order and the assortment was so varied that thousands of buyers throughout the land immediately availed themselves of the opportunity of securing these useful articles at a very minimum cost. And then the Army and Navy Dept. Store made its appearance in some of our cities. On May 27, 1922 Anaheim was included in a chain of stores, doing business under this name and already established in San Diego, Bakerfield, Hanford and Visalia. Mr. D. Wrotenberg, the local manager, opened the shop in this city and in keeping with the general color scheme of this wonderful county, the Army and Navy Dept. Store was thrown open to the public and known as "the store with the orange front." This store and a purchaser may verify the statement by calling at their place of business and examining the many articles to be found there, and then to be told of the very reasonable prices that are asked for their wares. Furnishings of all descriptions, shoes, clothing, army goods, suit cases and bags—the place is filled with a great variety of things that we all must have in our every day life. Presently, this fine new store with its symbolic orange front will enlarge its operations so as to include ladies' and children's clothing. The stocks then will be complete and the service and quality will be maintained, just as they have been so steadily maintained in the other towns where the Army and Navy Dept. Store have carried on successful operations. The turn-over of these stores is extremely rapid; the buying power for so many establishments is a big factor in securing merchandise at a minimum of cost; the quality is guaranteed and the prices are exceedingly attractive. It is evident then, that the buyer can make a substantial saving by doing business at the Army and Navy Stores. Go there, investigate for yourself and take advantage of their many inviting offers.
