KIWANIANS ENJOY LIVELY MEETING
Kiwanians today had one of the liviest meetings of months. Some 35 Santa Anans came down as the guests and listened to a fragrant and touching poem read by F. B. Hardin and other entertainment features, George W. Young of the La Habra club told of the plans for charter night of the club, to be observed on Feb. 21 at the Hotel Virginia, Long Beach.
The local club had to use the big dining room to accommodate the crowd.
President A. B. McCord welcomed the visitors, who each stood and gave his name and calling in life.
Young distributed blanks for reservation for the charter night. Applications must reach Secretary Harry Horn of the local club by noon of Feb. 19. Six hundred will be entertained, said Young.
Chairman Frank Edmiston announced that the Kiwanis Day program at the National Orange Show in San Bernardino, Feb. 16-26, to be held Feb. 21, would be finished by 2:00 p.m., permitting lots of time to reach Long Beach for the charter night ceremonies.
The entertainment consisted of: Solos by Howard L. Potter of the White Temple, accompanied by the club pianist, Harry Briscoe; Harden's poem which, told of how a Persian cat of high lineage (Anaheim supposedly) educated an alley cat of low (Santa Ana) on a two-day pilgrimage; the story also by Harden, of the two Swedes who visited Minneapolis and discovered a surprisingly long and inconvenient step (the elevator several floors down) while hunting for the hotel bathroom; dancing by I. D. Wheeler, the sign painter, said to have been a professional dancer formerly; and selections by the orchestra, Alex Houck, Harry Horn and E. Zitzman, accompanied by Briscoe again.

The regular meeting of the Anaheim Realty Board was held last night, there being a large attendance. There were no special speakers but a general discussion among the members on matters of current interest to realtors.

Pending legislation was discussed, especially the bill introduced by Senator Sample providing for examinations by brokers before being issued a license. The examining board would be composed of men who had had at least eight years experience in the real estate business.
The broker must be a real estate man, know some of the technical phases of the business, and be of good moral character.
ZERO WEATHER ON WAY TO MID-WEST
THROW OUT SEVERAL ANNEXATION VOTES
Whether approximately 250 acres between North Palm, West North, Perry avenue and the State highway shall join Anaheim is being decided today. Up to 3:30 p'clock this afternoon 25 votes had been cast of which, it is said, 15 "stuck."
A quarrel ensued at the polls over the legitimacy of two votes from men who it was alleged, were not boni fide residents of the section to be annexed, but had been sleeping on army cots in a small building inside the district to be annexed in order to be able to vote.
Their votes were cast out, and the judges of the election ordered the men out of the polling place after a few words.
The right of three Mexicans to vote was also disputed because of their alleged inability to read and write English.
The territory is partly in the East and partly in the West Anaheim precinct. F. A. Dyckman, J. Knplp and Edward Torrance are the acting officials at the voting place, which is in the old Vanderhorck place at North Palm and eWst North-sts. The polls opened officially at 5 o'clock and will close at seven.
Sentiment in the district appears to be in favor of uniting with Anaheim.

FILE DEMURRER

Platt, Clayton H. Plat and John Leason vs Chris Nelson, J. S. Genron, Square Deal Syndicate and New Square Deal Syndicate. The cause of action appears to be ground in fraud and deceit, the defendants allge in addition.
