BUICK SALE RECORDS AGAIN BEING BROKEN Hitting on all cylinders and in high gear, the 1923 Buick evidently is after a sales record for the coming fiscal year, judging by the registration reports from California and all other sections of the country. For the fifth consecutive year Buick was awarded first place at the New York and Chicago National Automobile Shows. The honor position is awarded annually to the manufacturer who tops the list with given volume of business. In California, since the announcement of the 1923 Buicks last August, all registration records for quality cars have been broken. Each month the sales have increased and on Dec. 31, there had been 4486 Buicks registered in California since Aug. 1. In the first five months that the 1923 Buick product was being built, over 75,000 cars were manufactured and shipped from the Buick factories, as high as 1,000 Buleks being shipped in a single day. According to factory officials, the Buick again was the center of attraction at the national automobile shows. The sport roadster and the sport touring models and the touring sedans created quite a furore among show visitors. NO STINTING ON HORSESHOE QUALITY With various concerns sacrificing the quality of their tires and tubes in order to keep in the race, the Racine Horseshoe Tire Company points out that the Horseshoe tire has been kept absolutely up to the old high standard. The same number of layers of fabric goes into them; the same big oversize—no tire size for size is larger—and the same quality of rubber. The Horseshoe has been able to command a higher price than the average of the market because of these factors. James the Vulcanizer still has the exclusive distribution in Anaheim. U. S. Pay Cash, Save Time Money and Patience Pay your way as you go and you won't have bills accumulated at the end of the month to furnish an unpleasant surprise and maybe cause differences between you and your business friends. This is the advice of Nenno & Bock, leading accessories dealers who next Thursday, Feb. 1, will go upon a cash basis. It is silly to waste the time of buyer, seller and their representatives repeatedly recording a transaction amounting perhaps to less than a dollar in Nenno's opinion. The grocery store has for years advertised the "cash and carry" plan and been able to cut prices by using it. Why not the accessories dealer? asks the local firm. Time, money, goodwill, reputations, etc., are saved by the use of the cash system, says Nenno. But if the system is to be used, it must be used on all transactions, regardless of size. Promptly on Feb. 1, the cash system will go into effect. If others fight your battles eventually you will have to pay them "blood money." Correct this sentence: "Open her up," said the nice old lady to the drunken driver, "and let's see what she'll do." JORDAN IS LAUDED BY 20,000 OWNERS The testimonials of Anaheimers regarding the wonderful lasting qualities of the Jordan are only a few of 20,000 such received by the manufacturers, says the J. E. Walter Co., local distributors of the Jordan, Chandler and Cleveland. Many prospective purchasers of cars still are old-fashioned enough not to associate beauty and durability, says the local firm. The Jordan is not the only car combining these 2 qualities, but it is one of the outstanding examples. These letters are largely from keen business men who know a good machine when they see it and use it. Here are a few witnesses: F. X. Berrodin, Berrodin Rubber Co., "my Jordan is giving very best of satisfaction—not only in riding quality, but economy as well." J. Pfeffer, 318 Broadway, New York City, "I know of no other car, even for the price of $4000 or $5000 that gives better satisfaction than the Jordan—and I hear the same opinion expressed by all those who use your car." Wm. E. Lonergan, J. E. Lonergan Company, Philadelphia, "the Jordan is the proper car for a man to drive if he wants to feel safe." Aim high as earthly gains are everlastingly small.
