JORDAN SIGNIFIES ECONOMY, COMFORT
The day of true economy is dawning. The hour of the modern light weight, high quality, good looking, well balanced, sensible and economical automobile is here, says the Jordan Motor Car Co.
The individual who once found it necessary to choose a heavy car to obtain reliability knows now of a car in which reliability is combined with comfort, economy, and distinction. The individual who once thought it wise to choose a cheaper car for reasons of price, thinking to realize economy, now knows of a car in which the original price is practically the last payment for service rendered.
That car is the Jordan. Time was when motor cars were the sole possession of those who possessed old money. They endured excessive weight and cost of up-keep to enjoy comfort and reliability.
Those individuals to whom the possession of wealth was new aspired to own a heavy car, believing that the larger the motor car, the greater the evidence of wealth. That point of view has changed.
Color, comfort, good taste and atmosphere have made the Jordan beautiful.
But mechanical excellence, accurate workmanship, light weight, and a rare quality of balance made Jordan service possible.

Leading Anaheimers Buy Mac-Dry Battery
Most people suppose that the so-called "dry" battery is such mainly in name. B. F. Herr, whose shop is at 252 North Los Angeles street, points out that the Mac-Dry battery is such in reality. That is, it requires no water and hence no attention. It has no acid.
There are no separators, there is no corrosion, sulphation, no buckled plates, no freezing. There is a size for every car and the battery is guaranteed for three years.
More than 250 are in use in the county, among the users being the Anaheim Bakery on its delivery cars, W. H. Schureman, manager of the Anaheim Citrus Fruit Association; Henry Adams, vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce; the East Side grocery, W. C. Hefferny and George W. Barfoot.
BUICK SALES IN 6 MONTHS 61,000
There will have to be some more 50-carload lots of Buicks if sales continue as they have in the past in So. Cal. More than 61,000 of the cars were shipped from the Flint, Detroit and Canadian plants since Aug. 1 when the new models first were announced, and California has received one of the largest proportions of any state in the Union.
The figures were given out by H. W. Tuttle of the Howard Auto Company in Los Angeles.
November set up new marks, as had October-in daily, weekly and monthly production.
This year is expected to witness Buick output and sales far exceeding any year previous.

AJAX AND BUICK
THRU DEATH VALLEY
Those who have viewed the southwestern desert from the luxury of Pulman car can possibly grasp what it means to cross such a dreary, forbidding area as Death Valley in a motor car if they will believe any part of the following:
Three daredevils, namely "Outdoor" Franklin, super-daredevil driver, no other than Charlie Owens, famous artist, and Captain Davis, made the trip into its lowest depths and lived to tell the tale—a tale hundreds of prospectors left in the shape of whitened bones on blistering sands.
The men came back because, according to them, they had pinned their faith in a Buick six, equipped with Ajax cords. These hardened voyagers told A. E. Boal, manager of the Los Angeles branch of the Ajax Rubber Co., that they had never experienced such a depressing atmosphere as they felt in Death Valley. It was a living morgue, if that can be imagined.
Four hundred miles of bumping, pounding, skidding and nerywracking going in a Buick heavily overloaded with a month's provisions and camping equipment. The whole weighing above 4300 pounds. A feat accomplished, the like of which has never before been successfully completed.
Six quarts of gasoline was all the fuel left in the tank when the party reached civilization. They are unanimous in their opinion that the trip might have ended disastrously, as many whitened bones and wagon rulers told, if they had not been driving a wonderful car equipped with mighty Ajax, Cord tires—a super combination, which, when pitted against the worst imaginable odds nature has to offer, kept the faith "Outdoor" Franklin placed in them to the last mile of the 613 of "damnably tough going", as this fearless driver tersely expressed it.
TWO CARLOADS OF
TRADE BETTER, SAYS RELIABLE TIRE CO
Another week has passed, and the Para-Bell tire still has not been advanced like most independent makes. But better not wait any longer, advises Roy Mendoza of the Reliable Tire Co., local distributors. The price may go up any day.
The firm has them in all sizes, and also the Apex, the cheapest tire for the money on the market, in Mendoza's opinion.
Many have visited the new store at 209 South Los Angeles street and taken advantage of the low prices.
