The Greek hails from Boston and has a record of being a bad actor when it comes to slinging toe holds, wrist locks, etc. Santel will be able to turn a few tricks himself so we are going to see this fracas. Our old friend, Carl Johnson, is going to take on the U. S. Navy or rather a representative of the Navy in a preliminary to the Santel-Pergantos go. Carl would like a crack at Walter Miller and Johnny Meyers, and may get his wish in the near future. Roy Mabee is taking it easy on his farm. Roy will be back in the game just as soon as his brken rib will permit. Hackenrchmidt, the Glendale Bear Cat who gave Roy such a tussle a few months back, is very anxious to have another crack. Hacke is some man and would give Roy a lot to worry about. Tom Thorp, one of the high-light-in the eastern football world, has had an eye opener in witnessing the three recent East-West games, ball than the Easterners. Down East they have falcn into a rut of orthodoxy or straight football. The Westerners can play that style or they can play an open game. By mixing the two, the Easterners were puzzled and on uneasy street hit the time. Mr. Thorp a Lotus that the Eastern coaches will have to wake up and employ Western methods to maintain an equality with their Western brothers. Righto, Mr. Thorp, the East had better wake up or the West will be the center of all great sports. Jakie May, who pitched such wonderful ball for Vernon last season, will in all probability pitch for Vernon this season. He was slated to do his stuff for the Yankees, but that team failed to make the deal with Vernon owners. Jakie is willing to remain on the Coast, so it looks as the Vernon will have a pitching staff. Anyone that can turn in 35 wins in one season should be reckoned as a pitching staff by his lonely. MRS. NELLIE TERRY PRESENTED HOUSE Mrs. Nellie Terry was all smiles today and with good reason. Last night she was presented with a new, modern five room house, the grand prize offered purchasers in the Lohman tract. Hans Larsen was presented with a lot. Rapid development of the tract is promised. Grading of streets started today and the permit has been issued for the first house. It will be erected by A. L. Drews. It is expected that houses will go up rapidly on 20 of the 48 lots. The lots were sold for $1800 with $600 down and the balance in two years. The sale probably established a record among local subdivides, the tract having been disposed of in 26 days, including two holidays and two weeks of rainy weather. The purchasers of the lots met at the First National Bank last evening.
