MOST BEAUTIFUL PRESENTATION EVER SEEN IN ANAHEIM "The most beautiful stage presentation ever seen in Anaheim." This seems to be the gist of the comment heard during the past three days following the advent of Jack Redlaw's beautiful offering "A Chinese Fantasy," which is being shown in connection with Constance Talmadge in "East Is West" at the California theatre. Presenting beautiful Yvonne Farr, noted singer, costumed in a gorgeous Chinese costume, patterned carefully after that worn by Miss Talmadge in the feature photorama, Miss Farr offered "A Chinese Lullaby" and "Poor Butterfly" in a dramatic way which immediately won for her tremendous plaudits from the patrons. The scene, representing the interior of a wonderful Chinese temple, was complete in every detail and a marvel of construction and lighting. Flanked on either side with expensive golden vases and beneath the huge double canopy, a perfect Chinese Joss god, the stage picture was brilliant in the extreme. Mammoth genuine Chinese temples lanters were suspended by silken cords from the canopy corners, while a knotling cloth spread before the idol awaited the salads of the reverent Chinese maiden. The entire setting was originated by Mr. Retlaw for Anaheim alone. The effects were imported here from Los Angeles studios, and after erecting the scene he worked out an effect with carefully hidden lights that was a marvel and delight to onlookers. In fact, so universal was the comment accorded this offering that it is Mr. Retlaw's intention to stage several of these atmospheric costume presentations on the California stage in the near future. Yvonne Farr, star of "A Chinese Fantasy," has created a tremendous following here who are anxious to see and hear her in these beautiful prologues, as well as special song numbers on the screen and tage, and Mr. Retlaw believes that in securing LA Habra Items LA HABRA, Jan. 3 (Special—Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Hilbert were hosts to the members of the Tripitre's Saturday evening when these jolly matrons entertained their other naives to a new years banquet and card party. Whedon, of the University of California Agricultural Extension course, who is the new sec'y-manager of the county farm bureau, vice R. D. Flaherty, resigned, gave his first address before the Cypress center, congratulating them upon the progress made last year. He also spoke of what the Farm Bureau is doing in county and state. One concrete example was reported by J. J. Duvall of Kern-co. chairman of the state utilities commission, who said that the Pacific Gas and Electric Corp. wanted valuation of its property placed at 170 millions. After investigation, the Farm Bureau placed the value at $105 600,000, showing a difference of $64,400,000. As the result the citizens do not have to pay 8% upon that difference, and instead of increasing the rate they were given 12½ reduction They also expect to influence the So. Califf., Edison Co., in a decision to be given soon. F. H. Bowman, chairman, reported unsuccessful effort by property owners to have work done on Hanese road near Cypress. A committee was appointed, Joe Ritter and O. P. Bunyard, to take the matter up with the farm bureau. As the result of the co-operation of the bureau, work on the road has commenced and they will have fine roads through that section. Miss Edna Rennie delighted the audience with a clever reading: "Her Husband's Dinner Party." Mrs. M. M.
