FIVE SIGNAL HILL PRODUCERS CEASE
WITH OIL OPERATORS
The Long Beach field was prepared with a problem, last week when five of the leading and old time producers either quit altogether or dropped below commercial production. The Bush Oil Co., lost a 600 barrel well when its Best No. 2 began flowing. This well has been producing at 3250 feet. The General Petroleum S. C. O. C. O. No. 2 stopped flowing, the well was making 500 barrels and was producting at a depth of 3500 feet. The Hager-Dennison Co., was the third to lose a well. No. 1 on the Doran property at 1000 barrel well at 3400 feet off short. The Henderson Petroleum's Dodge No. 1 a 1700 barrel well was the largest producer of the group that suddenly ceased producing. The sudden stopping of production of these wells is something of a mystery. It is believed that either sand or water or possibly a combination of both is to blame for the sudden stopping of production of the wells.
A. T. Jergins Trust No. 2 is becoming noted for the death of hard oil land that has been drilled thru since the 01-in, casing was set. At 2543 the ten inch was placed and from this depth on to 3600 feet the formation has been a very hard oil round, the sand has been heavily saturation and everything points to another big well for the Jergins Syndicate.
The heaviest loser in last week's catastrophic oil well quitting producing at Long Beach was the Marine Oil Corporation. The Marine's No. 4 a 1900 barrel well stopped flowing. The well was completed several months ago at 3620 and has been one of the field's consistent producers.
The Petroleum Midway is making a determined effort to shut off water in Fields No. 1 and prove up the north line of the Long Beach field. There seems to be little doubt about the production, but the water has been giving some difficulties. Fields No. 1 is 3577 feet when Patton-Wilson No. 1 at 3600 feet started off at 1200 feet. The new producer is making 23 gravity oil.
The Superior Oil Company's Kline No. 1, took on a new complexion when a nice showing of oil was struck at 4500 feet. Up to within a few days ago the well had not exhibited any very promising signs and the good showing relives a lot of anxiety.
Sixty three hundred feet of hole with the rotary is the record the Standard Oil Company has made at Torrance Estate No. 1. This is one of the deepest test well ever drilled in So. Calif., and prove up pretty conclusively the outlying district between Long Beach and Huntington Beach. Drilling is still going ahead and an exhaustive test will be made before (the Sandard abandons).

McKEON DRILLING HAMILTON OFF-SET
WITH OIL OPERATORS
On account of the proximity of one of the Santa Fe Springs Syndicate Parkford wells to Hamilton No. 5 at Santa Fe Sprugs the impression was gained that Hamilton No. 5 had been taken over and would be drilled by the Packford interests. Parkford and the Santa Fe Springs Syndicate have no interest in or connection with Hamilton No. 5. The offset to the famous Hamilton No. 4 will be drilled by the McKeon Drilling Co., the drilling company that made one of the most wonderful records that has ever been made in So. Salif. The financing of Hamilton No. 5 is the hands of the H. L. Bentley Co., a company that has made a reputation for handling and putting on clean and straight deals. The drilling of Hamilton No. 5 will be watched with great interest as there is already speculation as to its becoming the wonder oil producer of the south side section of Santa Fe Springs.
