ORANIZE CARD CLUB IN DOMESTIC SCIENCE SECTION WITH 16 members of the Domestic Science section, of the Ebell club in attendance, the meeting with Mrs. Thos. Lumsdon and Mrs. E. E. Bruce at the Lumsdon home, was delightfully interesting. Christmas greens about the room spoke of the joyous season and live-lly chatting of Christmas plans interspersed the regular afternoon program of discussion. Roll call brought forth several new recipes, and two new members added their names to the list. The new card club which has been organized for the lovers of the game and the initial meeting will be held on the first Friday in January in the club has the name Entre Nous, meaning "among ourselves". Giving a touch of the English Christmas Mrs. Lumsdon and Mrs. Bruce served genuine English Christmas cake and tea, with macaroons for sweet. Moose Social Night Eighty members of the local lodge of the Loyal Order of Moose and their guests last night attended a dance at Odd Fellow's Hall. A cold luncheon was served. A five-piece string orchestra played. Dancing was from 9 to 12. The affair followed the regular meeting of the lodge. Secretary G. B. Brown resigned and H. L. Nichols was named secretary to succeed him until the installation two or three months hence. Bible Class Thursday The Bible class, taught by Mrs. J. Wilson, of Long Beach, will meet Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, sharp, in the bungalow of the Presbyterian church. Mrs. Wilson devotes her entire time to these classes, teaching in a different city each day in the week. The classes are inter-dominational and everyone in Anaheim is cordially invited. A blessing and a profit awaits all who attend them. Christmas Box Thursday The Chat 'En Seau members are reminded of the Xmas box which will be enjoyed with Mrs. C. B. Goodson at her home S. Philadelphia-at Thursday evening. All members are asked to come even if they may be late, as the box will not be opened until every member gets there. Christmas at Big Bear Miss Morningstar, W. L. and J. H. Morningstar went yesterday to Big Bear where they will pass the holidays with their brother, Henry Morningstar, near Fawnskin. They found the snow only moderately heavy and the drive up was in very good condition, the desert route being the only one now open. Grandson for Birthday Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Dugdale are happily announcing the birth of an 8½ pound son who made his arrival early this morning. The young man will be called, James Arthur. The young man is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H. Bowen and the day is the grand daddy's birthday anniversary. Evenings by Appointment THE WOMAN'S PAGE OF THE PLAIN DEALER, DEC. 19TH, 1922 Rehearse Carols The Anaheim Community Choral Society held the regular rehearsal at the high school auditorium last evening at 7:45 with a very good attendance. Mr. Rohlea, who has had many years experience in directing and who was recently Dean of Music at the University of Idaho, directed the Choral Society with Miss Marion Wallace accompanist. After the rehearsal Mr. Rohlea, who has a beautiful voice, favored the Choral society with a number of selections receiving loud applause. It was decided by the society that they would meet at the flag pole at Los Angeles and Center-sts at 11:30 p.m. Sunday evening, Christmas eve, and from there they would start their community wide carols. It was also decided that on Friday evening the entire Choral society would meet at the Community Service Kiddies Christmas tree Friday evening, the California theatres have kindly consented to assist in every way possible. Mr. Rohlea will sing the first verses of "Silent Night" and "Come all ye Faithful" and then the audience will sing the remaining verses directed by Mr. Rohlea this evening at 7:45 at the California Theatre. The entire Choral Society have been requested to be present to assist in the community singing. Informal Anniversary Party Mrs. W. J. Jewell and Mrs. L. C. Blake were initiated into the Julia Ward Howe Tent, D. A. R. yesterday afternoon at Fullerton. This was the regular business meeting of the society but a program a little out of the ordinary was enjoyed in order to commemorate the 11th birthday anniversary of the organization. Pack Christmas Boxes The ladies of the Cypress Community club will meet tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Cypress grammar school to pack the boxes of candy and sweets which will be presented Thursday to the folk at Orange-co hospital and home. The boxes will be furnished by the club and the candies by the individual remembers. All the ladies who can visit the hospital to offer good wishes and Christmas greetings. Mrs. Mary Collins of Long Beach was the guest Sunday of Mrs. C. R. John, of Cypress. Mrs. Collins left Monday for Berkeley where she will pass the winter with her daughter. Ralph LaRue, of Berkeley is expected home to enjoy the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. LaRue. He will leave Jan. 10 for Davis to complete his senior work and will graduate in May. Mrs. E. M. Carver is getting along nicely after suffering with a severe cold. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Quarton, Mr. adn Mrs. Wayne Amack and Engene Booth accompanied Ensign Dale Quarton to San Pedro where he went on duty. They then continued on to Los Angeles where they passed the day. Mrs. Alice Booth was the guest yesterday of Mrs. Wade Quarton in Fullerton. PAGE Attend Popcorn Party The Business and Professional women are asked to remember the popcorn party in the Nurses Tea room at the hospital this evening. There are lots of popcorn string to be made and a good showing is asked. A pleasant time is in store for all with music an refreshments to be enjoyed. Miss Alice Teevan will entertain the girls this evening. Tomorrow evening at the same place, Miss Adeline Curtiss will be hostess. She also desires a large crowd out. Christmas Surprise Near the close of the meeting of Buena Park chapter, O. E. S., last night, the members were invited to the lower floor of the building where a Christmas tree, in all its glory, stood awaiting the exclamations of delight and surprise. A gift of goods was presented each person and an impromptu program of music was heard. Initiation was conferred upon one candidate and other interesting business was transacted.
