The trucks which were stuck yesterday have been pulled out, but 2 more going thru last night were mired. After a demonstration in which it was shown that the car could keep safely to one side of the highway at 68 or 70 miles an hour, the chief was convinced, said F. M. Medbery of Townsend & Medbery, distributors, who was here on Thursday. The sale was concluded and delivery made this week.
The Union Oil company has purchased 60 Hudson's for its division managers. The car is preferred above all others for certain kinds of work, and the same thing is true of the Standard Oil company, says Medbery.

Window Shopping Is Easy at Mann’s

JAMES CAN MAKE THAT TIRE LIKE NEW
Sometimes a perfectly good tire gets part of the side wall split or knocked in by accident. Don't throw such a tire away, says James the Vulcanizer, but have a section put into it and make it as good as it was before.
James also can re-tread your tire when it happens to get worn down to the cord or fabric in places. Often a better tread than the previous one can be put on. Quick service on punctures.
There is always another notch left in man's conscience that can be let out—but will it let you in?
Forgive your fellowman today as you may need his forgiveness tomorrow.

TRIP INSURANCE IS POPULAR HERE
The local branch of the Automobile Club of So. Cal. is receiving quite a demand for its trip insurance policy, with the storm weather here. Non-members as well as members may purchase it, and passengers are protected against injury as well as death. The fee is merely nominal.
CADILLAC MODELS KEPT TWO YEARS
The policy of the Cadillac manufacturers not to change models often than once every two years, unless there is some imperative occasion for it, protects purchasers, says M. B. Lacy, branch manager of the Cadillac Garage company.
Nobody need fear that within a few months this car will be out of date and style.
Furthermore, even when changes are made they are not of a radical character. A purchaser will not be put into a quandary to obtain correct parts or replacements for his car and the car's trade in value will not be rudely cut.
The recent exhibit of a cut down chassis, together with the illustrated lecture on the manufacture of the Cadillac has awakened wide interest in the county among new auto fans less familiar with the Cadillac's reputation.
CASINGS UP 15 P. C. IS FORECAST
The initial boost in tire prices, if it comes, will be on Dec. 15 and amount to 12 1-2 or 15 per cent and not 10 per cent, as was originally planned. So declares the representative of one of the "big five" corporations who was here this week.
An immediate advance in Goodrich tubes also was announced this week of 12 1-2 to 15 per cent. Other pure gum tubes are expected to be jumped similarly.
The "big five" consist of the Goodyear, Goodrich, United States, Firestone and Kelly-Springfield. The advance planned for Dec. 1 did not materialize, according to the informant referred to, because one of the five corporations wanted an increase of 15 per cent or none at all.
Just envy exists between the producer and non-producer receiving the same wages; the former gets there; the other remains there.
