SOCIETY CIRCUS
PROMISES RARE
TREAT. TO CROWD
ANAHEIM Elks lodge is making extensive plans for the society circus which they will stage Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 6 and 7, for the benefit of a fund with which to supply the needy children of the district. As this district extends half way to Santa Ana and midway to Whittier it may be seen that there are many children who will be remembered if Santa Claus forgets.
Al kinds of amusements and entertainment will be offered. Things that Barnum never dreamed of will include cages of wild men from darkest Africa, treasures of nature and dozens of curiosities. Many nice prizes will be given away too, and they do say that a real live baby is to be one of them. A Christmas turkey, a ham or some other goodie may fall to the lot of the unsuspecting patron of the circus.
The affair is not a carnival, but a society circus, and local interest is running high. Every ticket purchased to the circus means happiness to some kiddie and a good dinner for the family.

be noted for his absence; at first some began to wonder and than to speculate, how long before he would return? A long distance phone call came from San Diego with Mr. Domingues at the other end of the wire saying that he and Tom Wright of Atwood had taken the early train for the southern metropolis and he naturally could not bring the bread over then. Now we are wondering more than ever whether he is still waiting for a fresh, or different batch to be baked down there, or if he misunderstood directions as to the town, where he was to get it or what kind of bread he was to get, or what? Of course, its too far fetched, why "races," and "Tia Juana," do not even rhyme with bread but—there's no telling what an able poet will not do at times and with just a few words to start on.
