WHEELER HOME SCENE OF HAPPY SOCIAL EVENTS Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Wheeler, 129 West Chartres-st, entertained friends on a recent evening with progressive five hundred, the prizes being awarded to Miss Birdie DeLong, first for ladies, and W. K. Suiter, for men. Consolation went to Mrs. A. L. Winney and Al Johnston. A two-course luncheon was served after the games. The guest list included Mr. and Mrs. C. DeLong, of Tustin; Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Suiter, Mr. and Mrs. Al Johnson and son, Anbrey; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Winner, Miss Birdie DeLong, Mr. Walter Heitshusen, Mrs. Annie McCullock, Miss Ralph Clever, of Fullerton and the host and hostess. Another happy social affair at the Wheeler home was given by Mrs. W. K. Suiter and Mrs. Wheeler, her sister, when music, dancing and games and stunts were the amusement features. In the wee smal' hours a delightful repast was enjoyed. Present were Mr. and Mrs. E. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. H. Dwyer, Mr. and Mrs. S. Dwyer, all of Long Beach; Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Robinson and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Clever, of Fullerton; Mr. and Mrs. Nevel, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sanders and son, Arthur, Miss Lillie Ahern, Miss Marie Robertson, Mrs., Annie McCullock, Walter Heitshusen, Mr., and Mrs. O. R. Owen, Mr. J. L. Winney, Mr. and Mrs. Suiter and Mr., and Mrs. Wheeler. Two Dinner Parties Echoes of Thanksgiving continue to tell of pleasant gatherings about the loaded tables, and among them is the observation of the day which was continued into the following day, yesterday. Going to the home of Mrs. Alberta Andrews, on Garden Grove road for turkey feast, Mr. and Mrs. R. J Rogers and two sons, Mr. and Mrs. A.C.Eaton, Mr. F.W.Vanderburger, of Eagle Rock and Miss Virginia Nealey, who is wintering in California, with Mrs.Mary Doollin and Mr.Sam Whitaker, formed a most congenial party. As there were the Smakins" for a Thanksgiving dinner at the A.C.Eaton home in Santa Ana the happy company went there yesterday and did justice to the splendid meal. King's Heralds' Afternoon An enthusiastic meeting of the King's Heralds was held yesterday afternoon in the social hall of the White Temple. Forty-four young members were present. After the devotional exercises the children were divided into three sections: The older girls have Miss Esther Pember for leader; the boys, Mrs.George Tedrick, and the young girls, Mrs.Osburn. The lesson from the book, "The Wonderland of India," was followed by the lesson songs and yellis, after which refreshment was served. The meeting had the largest attendance for a long while. After the pleasant affair the children repaired to the Sunday school room to practice for the Christmas cantata. Dinner at Camphaven A pretty, alttthough small, dinner party was seated about the table at Camphaven, the home of Mr. and Mrs.E.B.Camp on Lincoln Ave. Thanksgiving day. The centerpiece was a lovely cluster of three dozen choice roses, placed in a container on a yellow, white and green dolly. Whoeler, of 129 West Charterset, entertained a happy company with a family dinner. Interest centered in the sumptuous turkey dinner served at 1 o'clock. The table was prettily decorated with a huge basket of fruit as a centerpiece, with ropes of snail and scarlet geraniums to points on the table. Place cards appropriate to the day were the handwork of little Naomi Wheeler, daughter of the household. Readings were given by the Little Misses Dorothy Suffer and Naomi Wheeler were greatly enjoyed. The afternoon was passed with music and conversation incident to so happy a gathering. Those enjoying the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler were Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Suiter and children, Dorothy Betty, Jack and Billie; Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Winney and children, Arthur Jr., and Margaret; Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Winney, Mrs. Annie McCullock, Mr. L. J. Winney, Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Oliver, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Robinson and children, Glen and Barbera, of Fulerton; the host and hostess and daughters, Rose and Naomi. B. Camp, on Lincoln Ave, Thanksgiving day. The centerpiece was a lovely cluster of three dozen choice roses, placed in a container on a yellow, white and green dolly. The huge turkey was flanked with seasonable dishes which the congenial dinners thoroughly enjoyed. Miss Williams, one of the guests, is leaving for her home in Texas in about ten days, and the occasion was rather in compliment to her. Other coeyers were placed for Mrs. Ruth Camp Bandhil and small son, Gilman, and the host and hostess. Bridal Couple Entertain Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hunt of La Habra entertained Thanksgiving day with a dinner party for relatives. Chicken, with all the fixins, was most heartily enjoyed. Mrs. Hunt will be remembered as Miss Ruth Winters. Guests at the dinner included Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Winters, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hunt, F. I. Winters, Mrs. Mary Moon, and Misses Florence and Dorothy Winters, sisters of the hostess. Excellent Turkey Dinner Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Wessler of West Anaheim entertained Thanksgiving day with an excellent turkey dinner. The table fairly grounded with the good things to eat. Red geraniums and a fruit basket in the center of the table offered the decorations. Games and music was enjoyed by all in the afternoon. Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Bircher and family, Mr. and Mrs. B. Garton and family, Misses Bircher, and G. Bircher all of Anaheim, Mrs. Mary Miller and Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Blauch of Whittier, Mr. Blauch is a son of the Wesslers. Tickets Going on Sale The sale of tickets for Little Red Riding Hood, given under the auspices of the Music department of the Ebell club, will begin Monday. The children and members the Ebell club are selling the tickets, but they may be secured on the evening of the event at the Heying Pharmacy and at the box office in the high school. OPERETTA UNDER WAY INTERESTS MUSIC LOVERS THE brilliant operetta, Little Red Riding Hood, will be given Thursday evening in the high school auditorium. The entertainment is under the auspices of the music section of the Ebell club of Anaheim. Rehearsals are going along most satisfactorily the solos, duets, choruses all nearing the point of perfection. The costuming is gorgeous, and no end of energy has been expended by volunteer helpers in constructing the garments. The cast and program follows: Invisible chorus, "Three O'clock in the morning". Elect New Officers The regular meeting of the Lois Rebekah Lodge was held last evening, when officers were elected. The choice resulted in the following: Noble Grand, Mrs. Carrie Boege; vice grand, Mrs. Emma Hedges; ret., Miss Elizabeth Mang; fin., Mrs. Elise Borth; treas., Mrs. Nelle E. Terry; two trustees, Mrs. Lillian Wick and Mrs. Lizzie Nylen. Plans were made for the big Christmas party which will be held Thursday evening, Dec. 21, for Odd Fellows, Rebekahs and their families. At the next meeting initiation will be a feature. A social hour with refreshments and dancing followed the secret session. Holly Berries Deck Room Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Bell were among the gracious entertainers who served turkey dinner to relatives and friends over Thanksgiving day. Holly berries were used in abundance and a cheerful atmosphere pervaded the rooms. Covers at the prettily laid table were placed for Mr. and Mrs. Ward Drake and children, Ralph Utter, Mrs. Lilian Wick. City Briefs Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hapgood and children and Miss Grace Bailey enjoyed dinner with friends at Riverside Thanksgiving day. Misses Lorena and Olive Dumpke are home over the week-end from U.C.S.B. L.C. Blake is confined at home on account of illness. Mr. and Mrs. L.P. Nicholas and children accompanied by friends, went to Long Beach today where they will remain until tomorrow evening. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas had the friends as dinner guests Thursday and took them home today. Mr. and Mrs. J.T.Latta, of Ligamer, Ind., are guests of Mr. and Mrs.F.R.Lagourgue.Mr.Latta is a brother of Mrs.Lagourgue.Miss Alta Lagourgue, of Payson,Ariz., is the guest of her parents for a month and is also enjoying the visit with her aunt and uncle. Stradling, of Santa Ana, will occur this evening, after which they will take a short honeymoon journey and return to reside in Anaheim. Miss Costello is connected in a clerical capacity with the Dunton garage, and has resided in Anaheim less than a week. However, she has been a resident of California the past five or six years, living in Los Angeles and Santa Ana. Mr. Stradling is a salesman for the Chanticleer Maunt, in Santa Ana, a restricted residential section, and is a successful young business man. They will be heartily welcomed in Anaheim upon their return. Music after Dinner A dinner party Thursday was tented a small company of guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Donnelly, who, with their daughters, the Misses Rose and Elizabeth, were delightful entertainers. The guests were Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Murphy, Madame Frances Grey, Mr. Thomas Haley and Mr. Gerald Donnelly, all of Hollywood. Madame Gray, a recognized solist, who is of the Grauman's entertainment staff, favored the party with several selections after dinner. KEPT HIS WORD KIWANIANS ELECT OFFICERS TUESDAY Tuesday next promises to be a big day for Anaheim Kiwanis when officers for 1923 will be elected. A. B. McCord of the Anaheim National Bank is to be the club's next president and Fred A. Backs will be vice-president, these Kiwanians being nominated without opposition. Ernest Zitzmann is just as sure to be named treasurer, too, for he is without opposition. There are 11 candidates on the ticket for director, and include Homer G. Ames, B. N. White, Wm. Webb, Jr., Roscoe N. Young, George Dunton, Frank N. Globe, W. T. Wallop, O. E. Steward, Joseph A. Clayes, Victor D. Loly and Ernest Zitzman. Henry M. Adams and Oscar T. Conklin were nominated for district trustee. The nose-bag committee, composed of H. N. White, Henson Ferls and Vic LaMont, which served through November, has requested that it be allowed to function through December, and the club has extended the requested courtesy.
