DON QUIXOTE BACK FROM ADVENTURES
Charles "Chuck" Remp, youthful Brean, has returned home after a several weeks flight which took him over into Mexico. When young Remp started off on his pony dressed in chaps, a cowboy suit and big sombrero, he had one ideal in mind, Don Quixote and his adventures. He proceeded southward on his way to Mexico and somewhere in the wilds of that region as he was traveling at a fast rate of speed, his horse stumbel and broke his leg. Chuck was forced to shoot the horse with the sawed off shot gun that he carried.
The young adventurer "bummed" around for some time, then came back to the U. S. and went to Elsinore where he worked on a ranch. From there he drifted to Lake View. Yesterday, his mother, Mrs. Martha Remp, received a letter asking her to go to Lake View after him. Thus his adventures have ended and he is on S. Madrona-st, Brea, the same Charley Remp as the days before the Don Quixote idea struck him.

Fricke said that he was considering asking the bar association to make an investigation of Phillips' self-named "confession" of alleged intimacy with Mrs. Meadows for the purpose of ascertaining whether it was an attempt to reach prospective jurors in the case.

BATTLE ON
(Continued From Page One)
The field was in fine shape and the crowd was on hand early to cheer the two teams to victory. With the crowd steadily increasing after 2 p.m., it looked as if probably 5000 might be present.
One of the first preliminaries of the big contest was the taking of motion pictures of the teams in field by cameramen representing prominent concerns in So. Calif.
The umpires were on the field early. There were three of them, Crucher, Jimmie Burns of San Francisco, and Bob Tedford.
Practically every city in the So. Calif. League of the Elks was represented in the crowd, and it seemed as if half of Anaheim was present.
Because of the fact that both teams had injured men, there was some delay in picking the teams.
Both teams were out on the diamond early, warming up or sunning themselves on the benches.
Santa Rosa did not appear to warm up as readily as Anaheim. This was one of the first things that the Anaheim rooters noticed. aNta Rosa's lefthanded pitcher also attracted early attention.
Here are the lineups:
Santa Rosa—Smith, cf; E7;
Genetti, 1b; Cormick, ss; J. Karoni, 3b; Evans, lf; G. Maroni, 2b; Petray rf; Schmidt, p.
Anaheim—Hughes, p; B. Callan, c; Ramage, 1b; Pendleton, ss; D. Bush, 2b; Dunn, 3b; Schrott, rf; G. Callan, cf; R. Bush, rf.
SAN PEDRO ATHLETE MISSING 3 DAYS
LOS ANGEES, Oct. 12.—Anxiety was at a high pitch in San Pedro today among the hundreds of friends of Lawrence Powers, San Pedro boy and football player of the San Pedro high school team, as the result of the failure of a two-day search for him following his disappearance from his home.
The boy's mother was reported to be near collapse and confined to her bed, as hundreds of high school boys led by Football Coaches McDaniels and Heney began the third day of the search.
Fears that the boy was murdered or suffered injury or death in an accident were expressed by some of the searchers after they failed to find a trace of the missing youth.

HEAVY DEMAND FOR HUDSON AND ESSEX
"It is a question of getting them," says H. R. Grove, of Townsend & Medbery, Hudson-Essex dealers in Anaheim.
"The wise automobile buyers in this vicinity have been quick to see the unusual values of Hudson and Essex at the new low prices and my biggest job has been to get the cars to supply the demand. Deliveries this week have been fairly satisfactory, however, and consisted in Hudson coaches to Dr. John Boege and C. A. Gibson of the Gibson Drug Store, Essex coach to Newman Sanford of 320 N. Los Angeles-st and Essex touring to Ottis Stambro of the Anaheim Welding Works. Used car sales too have been brisk, owing, I suppose, to the same reason—extra value for the dollar."
