PRETTY EVENING WEDDING OCCURS H. H. HUNT HOME Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Bell attended the wedding of P. L. Neill, a nephew of Mr. Bell, and Miss Neva Holmes in Fullerton on a recent evening. The wedding was solemnized by Rev. E. J. Staton and was at the manse. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Dell and simplicity marked the ceremony. The young people both graduated from the Fullerton high school and the wedding is the culmination of a beautiful romance started in the halts at that school. After a honey-door trip they will go to Santa Fe Springs where they will make their home. The groom is a member of the Neill Boiler works at that place. Dinner Party for Sister Relatives and friends to the number of twenty were dinner guests at the A. L. Dickson home last evening, in celebration of the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Edith Erickson, sister of the host, who is a recent arrival from Moline, Ill. Although a very informal affair, the dinner was delicious and the pleasant evening passed in conversation among the congenial friends who frequently meet in social homegatherings, and was most pleasant. Among the guests was Miss Madeline Brune, of San Diego, who is the house guest of her sister, Mrs. Erickson. The honororee received many gifts for remembrances of the day. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Scott of Fullerton passed Sunday in Los Angeles with friends. Faris is Home Again Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Faris, 214 East Adele-at., returned home today, Mrs. Faris from a visit with her husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Faris, Ontario, and her aunt, Mrs. Wm. Norwood, of Highlands. Mr. Faris was the Anaheim representative of the $100,000 club of the Pacific Coast division of the New York Life Ins. Co., meeting in two days' convention at the Del Monte hotel, Del Monte. To be a member of this club requires some energy and business ability, for it means that every member must have sold and received payment on $100,000 worth of life insurance in the past year. Among the 75 representatives were Thomas Buckner, vice president of the company and Dr. Rogers, chief medical director. Mr. Faris joined Mrs. Faris last evening in Highlands, they returning together. Hear Former Pastor Mr. and Mrs. Perry Mathis were visitors in Los Angeles yesterday, attending services at the Knox Presbyterian church, where Rev. Manhardt delivered the sermons morning and evening. Mr. Earl Mathis of Fullerton, brother, joined them in the afternoon. Rev. Manhardt was pastor of the church where the Mathis family attended in Yates Center, Kans., for five years, but has been visiting in California several weeks. He leaves today for his eatern home. PROMOTED YESTERDAY was an important day for twelve small boys and girls of the Presbyterian Sunday school. It was rally day and a feature was the promotion of the children from the primary to the junior department of the school. The children, six boys and six girls took their places on the rostrum at the proper time and were presented with real diplomas of graduation, and of which they are justly proud. For each little one must pass the set examination before he is entitled to promotion. With appropriate music and other numbers incident to rally day exercises, the event was very interesting. The class is composed of Frieda Franke, Dorothy Pibel, Helen Shipley, Hazel White, Alice Berry, Irene Hein, Donald Spencer, Wesley Franke Clyde Harris, Willis Hasson, Paul Collins and Russell Fitzpatrick. City Briefs Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Follis of Buena Park passed Saturday evening at the H. C. Ruick home, playing five hundred. Pass Day Together Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Clark and son Albert and Mr. and Mrs. L. Goble metored to Santa Ana yesterday where they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Goble and their guests, Misses Lulu Goble and Christine Schwenchert of Los Angeles. In the afternoon the Anaheimers returned home, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Will Richter who remained as dinner guests at the Clark home. Visit Son on New Mexico Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Quarton, Mr. and Mrs. M. Thurrin of Pasadena and Mrs. Edna Ferrell passed yesterday on the S. S. New Mexico as the guests of Ensign Dale Quarton. They were shown over the ship and were made to "feel at home". Visiting hours are or Saturday and Sunday afternoon but relatives of the officers may be entertained any day. Delphian Group Assignment All members of the Delphian society, who were not at the organization meeting Friday afternoon, are requested to call Mrs. Wm. Goodrum, 784, to receive their assignments to the various groups. Four units have been formed each with an enthusiastic leader. PRETTY WEDDING OCCURS AT HOME OF PRES. PASTOR MISS Helen E. Houghland, daughter of Mrs. C. Taylor, recently of Core Haute, Indiana, now of Los Angeles, became the bride of Mr. William L. Hunt, son of Judge and Mrs. Elwood Hunt of Rockville, Indiana, at a quiet wedding Saturday evening, September 30th at the home of his brother, Mr.H.H. Hunt, 821 So.Claudina. The nuptial rites were read by Rev. Leon L. Meyers, pastor of the First Christian church of this city. The home was prettily decorated with ferns, carnations and autumn flowers, and the bride wore brown georgette, heavily baded, with hat and shoes to match. Only the immediate families were present. A wedding dinner followed the ceremony and congratulations, and Mr. and Mrs. Hunt left for their future home, 320 North Vendome, Los Angeles. Bever and family passed yesterday afternoon with their daughter and sister, Miss Reona, who is convalescing in the Orthopedic hospital in Los Angeles. The little girl is yet in a plaster cast and is suffering no pain. She has a tutor and is keeping up her school lessons. Her other sisters, Orena and Ramona are attending school in Anaheim. Miss Mildred Waite of Fullerton spent the week-end in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gleser and family entertained Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Fergus yesterday with a Sunday dinner. In the afternoon the two families motored to Santa Ana where they visited friends. Miss Mae Bowe has accepted a position with the S. Q. R. Store. Mrs. Elizabeth Gleser and Mrs. Arthur Sexton both of Los Angeles were the guests today of Mrs Frank Gleser. Miss Agnes Bowe has arrived in Anaheim from Los Angeles and with her sister, Miss Mae are domiciled at the Kraemer-apts. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Planting passed Sunday in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Orr and baby son, Robert, of Yreka Calif., are guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Mayhew, West Center. The Orrs made the journey south by auto and had a very enjoyable trip. They will remain about a week with their relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Markel, who has been ill recently, is so much recovered that he is able to attend to small duties about the home and yard. Mrs. F. C. Brehm of Long Beach will speak at the school hall on Wednesday evening at 8 p.m., under the auspices or the Buena Park Woman's club. Miss Brehm will talk on the Wright bill, Paramount Issues and several other amendments to be voted on at the November election. Miss Brehm is a noted speaker and has twice been a member of the legislative council. This is the speaker to have been the guest of the club on Thursday afternoon and all club members are urged to attend. The public is also invited to come and hear this noted speaker. The Woman's club will meet at the Community Hall on Thursday afternoon for the first meeting since vacation Mrs. W. B. Shaw and Mrs. L. J. Robeson will entertain for this meeting.
