CHORAL UNION OFF TO PARK FOR EVENING FROLIC THE Orange County Choral Union had a very pleasant gathering last evening at Orange-co park. The event was somewhat in anticipation of the opening of the union's autumn activities, although little "shop talk" was heard. A fine dinner prepared on the big stoves in the park, which included everything from soup to nuts was served. Almost the total membership was present, as well as several guests. The Anaheim representation included Mr. and Mrs. M. Eugene Durfee, Mr. and Mrs. J. Marvin Hitchcock, Mrs. Frank Montgomery, Mrs. James Sutherland, Miss Alice Humphrey, Mrs. Humprey and Walter Stokes. With several of the talented members taking turns at the plano, dencing was enjoyed after the dinner. Masonic-O. E. S. Meeting Anaheim Masons and Eastern Stars are requested to meet at the Masonic Temple this evening to arrange details incident ot attending funeral services for Charles Federman in Los Angeles tomorrow morning at ten o'clock. It is desired that a goodly representation of the two organizations respond to this notice. Guests Fined at Party Realizing quite a little more than enough to purchase a chair for the Fullerton Community Shop, the ladies of the Domestic Science section of the Ebell club held a successful social at the home of Mrs. T. J. Hill yesterday. Dahillas from her own garden were used generously in decorative effect. The guests had been advised to come gowned in bungalow aprons and without adornment, and warned that to disregard the edict would mean financial difficulty. Several pairs of silk hose were found, several articles of jewelry, and more pretty gowns. The wearers were all subjected to fines which totalled the sum required and more. Mrs. Hill served light refreshments later in the afternoon. K. of C. to Ontario Council A fair representation of Knights of Columbus went to Ontario last evening to meet in joint session with the councils of Santa Ana, Pomona, Anaheim and Ontario. The topic for discussion was the big picnic to be held at Orange-co park Sept. 24. An elaborate program has been arranged and everybody in the county is invited, regardless of religion, politics or their stand on the Wright law. Chesinut-st, when Miss Nellie Pauline Snapp become the bride of Paul Bolick of Canton, Ohio. The couple was unattended. The ceremony read by the Rev. Pauchert of Santa Ana in the presence of the immediate families of the principals. Mrs. Bolick is prominent among the circles of the young people in the Grace Lutheran church of which she is a member. For the past year Mrs. Bolick, as Miss Snapp has been employed as assistant to Dr. W. J. Lawrie. The couple left after the ceremony for a short honeymoon, not revealing their destination. Widweek Club Plays Mrs. Clyde Webb of W. Broadway entertained a dozen of her friends yesterday afternoon with a five hundred party, the guests were members of the Wednesday afternoon five hundred club. Miss Frieda Janss was awarded the prize. After the games, rs. Webb served her guests with a dainty luncheon. Popular Reader at Kiwanis Mrs. Arthur A. Cohen was among the entertainers at the Kiwanis luncheon Tuesday athte Elks club-house. Mrs. Cohen recited "Society Girl at a Matinee" in her usual charming manner which thoroly delighted the members and their wives. Blooms Enchance Home Mrs. Will Hetebrink entertained the members of the "Jolly Five Hundred" club yesterday at her pretty home. Prize winners for the afternoon proved to be Mrs. Bert Annin, first; Mrs. Charles Hansen, second; and Mrs. Almes of Chicago, consolation. The other players were Mrs. O. A. Schumacher, Mrs. N. P. Male Chorus Sunday The congregation of the Christian church may expect something very good on the program of music next Sunday morning, as the Male chorus is getting tuned up to render some mighty fine numbers. Rehearsal was held last evening at the home of F. N. Ballou. Every man with any inclination whatever toward singing is invited to join the chorus, as it is the ambition to build up a large vocal organization. After rehearsal Mrs. Ballou served the gentlemen with ice cream and cake. The ladies are organizing a chorus, also, and much good-natured rivalry is anticipated. Sunbeams Shine All Day The Sunbeam society of the Amaranth passed the day yesterday at the home of Mrs. A. Miller, on Orangethorpe-ave. A potluck luncheon was enjoyed at noon. The activities of the day as usual was sewing on articles for the bazaar which will be given sometime in the autumn. Fifteen members were present.
