AD. SANTEL ACCEPTS
SEPT. 19 FOR MATCH
Wire has just been received from Ad Santel accepting Sept. 19 as the date of his go with Roy Mabee. The place will not be definitely settled until Saturday, but will be at one of the local theatres or the Athletic Club arena.
Roy Mabee worked out with Carri Johnson in Los Angeles yesterday. Roy is feeling fine and the workout yesterday did not tire him in the least.
Santel defends his titlein Sacramento today. Ad will drop down here a few days before his match with Mabee to adjust himself to local climate and conditions. He is in training all the time and will be ready to defend himself when the 19th rolls around. He has recovered from his recent eye trouble, so there is nothing to keep either Roy or Ad from being at their best when they face each other in the battle for mat honors.
HUSKIES BATTLE AT ARENA FRIDAY
Oh, boy! a couple of big huskies they are. Only 175 pounds! But man alive, they both can fight and sock and with either mitt. Jimmy Byrd and Kid George are holding down the semi-windup position on tomorrow night's weekly boxing program at the Athletic club's arena. Yes, fans, Matchmaker Billy Darnley actually believes he has one bout lined up between big fellows that ought to bring the house down.
Byrd is the rangy lad that made short work of Big Buck Jones over at Delhi recently. He is shifty for his weight and heavy hitter as well. Kid George is an old favorite with fight fans on the coast and in his day was up there among the best. The Kid is anxious to break back in the game and has been working out daily for a couple of months. He now feels that he is ready and 'rarin' to go. If he is in anything like his old time form he should give Byrd a red hot argument. If he gets by the tall boy in good shape the Kid wants to meet the best of 'cm. He is after Jack Iman and Kid Mexico in particular. Both boys will be obliged if they 'come thru' with the goods tomorrow night.
For his preliminaries, Darnley has lined up three fast ones. A better...
up there among the best. The Kid is anxious to break back in the game and has been working out daily for a couple of months. He now feels that he is ready and 'rarin' to go. If he is in anything like his old time form he should give Byrd a red hot argument. If he gets by the tall boy in good shape the Kid wants to meet the best of 'em. He is after Jack Iman and Kid Mexico in particular. Both boys will be obliged if they 'come thru' with the goods tomorrow night.
For his preliminaries, Darnley has lined up three fast ones. A better match could not be arranged than the Bennie Heller and Yucung Montoya freaks. It promises to be a torrid affair from start to finish. Montoya is coming along like a Texas cyclone and it is going to take a good boy to beat him right now. He will find stiff opposition, however, in rough, tough, little Bennie Heller. Bennie has been out of the game for three months, taking much needed rest but at the same time keeping himself in shape by daily workouts. Local fans all know what a dangerous wallop Bennie has uncorked time and again and if Montoya runs afoul of one of these Monty is going to hear the 'birdies chirp'.
This Jimmy Musse boy, the lad who is to meet Babe Orion, the Indian scraper from Redlands, is another youngster that Darnley has high hopes will make the biggest kind of a hit with local bugs. He is a fast shifty, clever fighter and packs a mean punch. Orton will give him plenty of fight and it ought to be a bright spot on the card. Eddie Dale of Placentia and Jack Munok of Garden Grove are to raise the curtain at 125 pounds. They are both willing mixers and they will start the fireworks off right.
Both Joe Chaney and Johnny Ray are reported to be in good shape for the main event and here is a battle that promises to be worth while. Ray appears to be a big favorite over Chapley but he will find out that he has his hands full when they square off.
A brisk advance sale is reported and a big house is being looked forward to. Ticket reservations may be occurred as usual at the United Cigar Store, 123 W. Center-st, or Phone 1937.
Taxi, day or night. Phone 153, Leonard Lee, 123 W. Center.

"DOLLARS AT FIFTY CENTS" would be a buy comparable with the Escondido bearing vineyards that we offer at $350.00 per acre. We are advised that his season's crop of these 8-year Muscats was contracted for at close to the above figure. At the same rate next year's crop should nearly pay for the acreage. Escondido has a super climate and is an ideal home location in every respect. San Delgo-co. is forgiving to the front due to extensive development of its water resources.Get in ahead of high prices and secure a part of this small remaining vineyard tract. A STEADY INCOME
Along with a peaceful, joyful home is indeed something to plan and look forward to.
It is not everyone who can go right out and purchase a bearing, income orange grove and home, but there are many who could, if they would, make a payment on a young orchard and see it grow, as their own, into productivity, larger value and income, making their future payments from their present business earnings and eventually having a grove worth many times more than what it may be had for today.
Have us tell you about two beautiful young groves we now have to sell on easy terms and at less than their actual value. One is 7½ acres at $10,125, the other, 6½ acres at $8,437. The two together would make 13¼ acres at $18,562 and we can arrange reasonable terms, also to care for them at a nominal charge until such time as you will be able to do so yourself.
Do not besitate to learn more about this splendid property from us. We assure you of our sincerity and desire to help you acquire your future income home.
