DELAY OPENING OF
FULLERTON SCHOOL
The opening of the Fullerton H. S. and Jr. Col. scheduled for Sept. 18, has been postponed until Oct. 2. It was announced this morning by A. S. Redfern, assistant H. S. principal, due to the fact that building operations would make it very inconvenient to start at present. It is said that all registration must be completed by that date.
The date of the high school institute had also been postponed to Sept. 27-29.
FULLERTON BRIEFES
Funeral services for Miss Nettie Arey, 40, who died at her home in Fullerton Sunday, are announced for 2 p.m. tomorrow at McAulay funeral parlors. Rev. William Perry, former pastor of the First Baptist Church of Fullerton, officiating. Cremation is to be at Los Angeles. Miss Arey was a former resident of Boston, Mass., coming to Fullerton five years ago, and has been active in the Baptist Church of Fullerton, especially in charitable work.
Decedent is survived by her mother and one sister here, and a sister and a brother in the east.
E. L. Wheatley of the Fullerton office of the Santa Fe Ry. has returned from Pomona where he spent the weekend with his family.
S. E. Reed, agent of the Santa Fe was in Long Beach yesterday.
Mr. and Mrs. Morris „Pitts, „Mr. and Mrs. C. Wilkinson, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Kime, and Mrs. Kime’s sister, Miss Moore, had a chicken dinner at Bixby’s park, Long Beach Sunday.
L. E. Plummer, principal of the Fullerton H. S., has returned from his vacation on the Pacific coast between here and San Francisco.
W. T. Brown of the Brown-Dauser Lumber Co. of Fullerton, who recently underwent an operation at the Anaheim Sanitarium, was taken to his home this afternoon in a Seale ambulance.
Mrs. Clyde Cheadle of La Habra was taken suddenly ill Sunday, and was taken to the Whittier hospital in a Seale ambulance.

Connecticut loses one of its successful, and probably one of its best informed insurance men, in the removal from Hartford of A. Curtis Case of No. 127 Warrenton avenue, who recently severed his connection with the A. E. Woodford Co., inc., to pursue promising business prospects in insurance and real estate in Buena Park, Calif., Mr. Case has been with the Woodford company for the past ten years, and for the past three years has been its vice-president.
Both through his business connections and his fraternal and club affiliations has become well known not only here in his home city but in other cities and towns of the state.
He is a thirty-second degree Mason, a member of Kiwais and of the Hartford Automobile club and also of Putnam Phalux.
Mr. Case has this week sold his Warrenton avenue residence.

Fred Fullerton, of the First National Bank of Fullerton, is taking a vacation.
Mrs. Waldo O'Kelly who recently underwent a serious operation has been removed to the home of her sister, Mrs. John Tuffree, of Placentia.
Postpone Meeting
The first fall meeting of the Sixteen Club will not be held this month with Mrs. John Cook as was at first planned, but will be postponed until October.

Fullerton grammer schools will open Sept. 11 with an enrollment of between 1,100 and 1,200, it was announced today C. A. Morey, principal, Mr. Morcey said this afternoon that the enrollment last year at the beginning of the term was 903, but that it reached more than 1,100 before the end of the term. The faculty has been enlarged from 36 to 45. The positions have all been filled but two, it is said.
It is planned to hold a faculty meeting Tuesday to arrange the work. There is to be an additional room for sewing at the Highland-ave-school, and also an addition to the manual training department, and teachers have been obtained for physical training for both the boys and girls. Miss I. Logan, formerly of Long Beach schools, has been obtained as writing supervisor.
The new building which was completed during the latter part of last term is to be filled to capacity, and the old building has undergone considerable overhauling.
The total enrollment of the Fullerton H. S. and J. C. is also expected to reach about 1,200 at the term opening Sept. 18. A total of 719 have already enrolled at the high school as follows: freshmen 259; sophmores 200; juniors 137 and seniors 112.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Laurel Helen Mahr beloved wife of George W. Mahr, born near Garden City, Kansas, April 6, 1901, came to California in 1907, living at San Marcos until her marriage on June 1, 1920. Resided at Buena Park for nearly two years, died at the Anaheim Hospital on August 12, 1922. Mrs. Mahr left to mourn her loss a husband, infant son, father mother and four sisters. The body was laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park, San Diego on August 17, 1922.
CADILLAC OPENS SERVICE STATION
Owners of Cadillac autos in No. Orange-co. will receive better service than ever before, with the opening this week at 336 North Los Anegels-st. of a branch of the Cadillac Garage Co. of Santa Ana. The company is using the space vacated by the Frank Taggart Co. Chevrolet distributors in Anaheim and vicinity. Sales and service departments will be maintained.
A thoroughly competent service man will be in charge and certain models of the car will be on exhibit at all times. M. B. Lacy, who has been covering the northern part of the county and is well-known in the trade, will be branch manager here.
Lacy said he hoped ultimately for larger quarters in keeping with the car.
