AT RECORD On Friday, August 18, a new production record was reached when 4,666 tires and 5,206 tubes were turned out of the big Los Angeles factories of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of California, according to Nenno & Bock. The highest previous record was made on August 12 of last year when 4,076 tires and 5,000 tubes were produced. H. E. Blythe, superintendent of the Western Goodyear factory, in commenting on this remarkable record, says: "Great progress in the perfection of automobile tires has followed the development and completion of laboratory apparatus that enables the tire designers to study intelligently and accurately various methods of construction and different kinds of materials.
