THE ORANGE COUNTY PLAIN DEALER, ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA
World Honors Those Who Their Community
MORE HONOR TO CITIZENS AND MERCHANTS OF THIS TYPE, WHO HAVE, FROM THE VERY BEGINNING, SHOWN A KEEN DESIRE TO HELP THE MYSTERIOUS COWBOY CARTOONIST AND HIS PLANS FOR A BETTER AND MORE PROSPEROUS ANAHEIM. NEVER FALTERING ONCE, THEY HAVE GONE ALONG WITH HIM, ARM IN ARM, ON THE HIGHWAY OF SUCCESS. THE FUTURE WILL TELL OF THE NET RESULTS OF THIS GREAT WORK. IT HAS NEVER FAILED, IT GROWS STILL MORE POTENTIAL AS TIME AND THE CAMPAIGN GOES ON; IT CONVERTS THE SKEPTICAL, IT STRIKES AT THE ADAMANT, IT GRATIFIES ITS MEMBERS, IT DOES NOTHING BUT GOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY—IT WINS THE COMMENDATION OF ALL IN THE END.

EVERY SIZE & SHAPE
IN SHOES'
THAT, metaphorically speaking, means that the "fit" survives at the Boot Shop—Brandenburg and Engle Inc., proprietors, at 214 W. Center Street.
What a real delight it is to walk into this pretty and quaint little home of fine shoes. It is literally full of quality—one can see that at a glance, but the picture itself is so fascinating that we almost forget our requirements for the shoes we come to buy and instead muse for the while in an atmosphere that is both unique and pleasant. Ah! it is the quaint decorations that catch our fancy—at first we are suggested of a bit of the Greenwich village scheme of things. Lavender predominant but just enough interspersed with other soft shades so as to make the contrast quiet and pleasing to the eye. You must really see it to four years is to be had in this fine little shop, also. Another exclusive line is the now popular Burns sandal, which you can find here in many different varieties
almost forget our requirements for the shoes we come to buy and instead muse for the while in an atmosphere that is both unique and pleasant. Ah! it is the quaint decorations that catch our fancy—at first we are suggested of a bit of the Greenwich village scheme of things. Lavender predominant but just enough interspersed with other soft shades so as to make the contrast quiet and pleasing to the eye. You must really see it to appreciate it but I can tell you that it is colorful in panels and there is the wished for border of gentle black on the soft grey coloring that adornes the fitting benches and in some other appropriate places. The background panels are most striking—the center one containing an artistic design of a huge peacock. And the windows have their pretty panels and there are the graceful and bright green ferns—it is all very beautiful and worth this vague attempt at the description of things.
But shoes are the things you come to see and to talk about. Here is the home of the best of footwear. First of all the Boot Shop is the exclusive dealers in Anaheim for the standard of all American shoes—the old reliable and famous Nettleton shoes. This line alone would afford considerable distinction but it is not all. The well known Emerson shoe that has pleased a big part of the American public for the past forty
four years is to be had in this fine little shop, also. Another exclusive line is the now popular Burns sandal, which you can find here in many different varieties of color. And best of all they feature special sizes in footwear, both for men and women.
In this very efficient and harmonious establishment one will always find that same brand of courteous service that has been so largely responsible for the success of these shoe merchants, in this city and at their other stores in Pasadena, Hollywood and Los Angeles. Mr. Max Engle and his brother, J. B. Engle, are associated with Mr. Brandenburg. Mr. Brandenburg is the junior member of the firm but he is an old timer when it comes to shoes. Mr. Max Engle is a shoe man of many years standing and he is giving the public the very best of service at their new shop. J. B. Engle divides his time between this store and the other establishments. But the Boot Shop is an Anaheim institution first, last and all the time. The quality speaks for itself and when you speak to the members of the firm, you are a customer for life.
