"THE SHOWOFF" TOPS CALIFORNIA BILL It last Anaheim theatreregisters have something to really look forward to weekly, when the de luxe vaudeville programs which have been presented for some time past at the California theatre rolls around. It has been the aim of the management to bring to Anaheim the very best talent available, and each Thursday night attests to this. It is with pleasure that the California management presents the bill tomorrow afternoon and evening. The topliner of this aggregation is none other than "The Showoff," that ludricous sketch directly from the Orpheum theatre, starring Fred Sumner. Here is an act that surely convulsed Los Angeles. It is a riot from start to finish, and the audiences at the L. A. Orpheum last week and the week before, were very boisterous in their applause. Another topliner will be the famous Pantages favorite, Tom Kelly, known everywhere as the "Irish Fashionplate." Tom always is headlined upon the Pantages circuit, and has a host of admirers. Anaheim should be proud to see this act here. Clare and Dell present one of the most novel act-divertissements ever seen here. This act is also a big timer, and a dandy one. Dressler and Wilson are rated among the foremost exponents in the world today of novelty dancing. They are superb. Earl Wright the famous acrobatic comie has a nifty act that will win great commendation here. Last but not least Anita Stewart, famous star, will be seen in her newest and greatest photoplay, "The Invisible Fear." She has hundreds of followers in Anaheim who will be glad to welcome her back again. LONDON CALLED CITY OF BEGGARS LONDON, July 26—London has often been called the city of beggars. LONDON CALLED CITY OF BEGGARS LONDON, July 26.—London has often been called the city of beggars. There are more vagrants in London than in any other capital city in the world. For every one beggar in New York, London has 800; for every two in Paris, London can produce 700; and when it comes down to crippled malformed beggars who display sores, ulcers, bandaged limbs, and sightless staring eyes in the hope of receiving money, London has them by the hundred score where New York has them hardly at all. Beggars is an industry in London. There are beggars who would rather beg than work. It is easier to beg than to work and in many cases more lucrative. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, July 26.
