INTEREST NEVER WANES WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT MATTERS WHICH LEAD TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF A CITY OR SURROUNDING COUNTRY. THAT IS, IT SHOULD NOT WAKE IF THE RIGHT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE DOING THE TALKING. SPEAK WELL AND HOPEFUL OF YOUR HOME CITY, OF THE OPPORTUNITIES HERE AND OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE HERE. NOTHING ELSE COUNTS SO MUCH WHEN WE ARE WEIGHING THE RESULTS OF PROSPERITY. BE MAGNANIMOUS, BE SINCERE, MAKE YOUR HOME CITY YOUR FIRST THOUGHT AND LET THAT BE A CONSTRUCTIVE THOUGHT FOR A GREATER AND MORE APPRECIATED CITY.

Anaheim Feed and Fuel Co.
He 'Feeds' THEM ALL
IN REVIEWING the commercial progress of Anaheim during recent years, the name of the Anaheim Feed and Fuel Co. stands out distinctly as one of the important factors in the city's upbuilding. There is probably no commercial enterprise in Orange county that has had more to do with centering county trade in Anaheim and in advertising the advantages of Anaheim as a buying and trading mart than has this business house.
Founded seven years ago this institution has of recent years been in the hands of Messrs. A. V. Vail and W. D. Grafton, two merchants who are well known throughout the county and surrounding country. They make a specialty of spraying materials for the groves and the insecticides are carried in stock also. They handle wood, coal and ice. They are public weigh masters; they have three
Anaheim and in advertising the advantages of Anaheim as a buying and trading mart than has this business house.
Founded seven years ago this institution has of recent years been in the hands of Messrs. A. V. Vail and W. D. Grafton, two merchants who are well known throughout the county and surrounding country. Mr. Vail came here when a boy and attended the schools of this city. Mr. Grafton has been in business in this city for the past five years.
It is practically the largest business of its kind in Orange county and they handle more sales of grains than any others. Their operations, as it may be supposed, are diversified and they offer to the city and country a service that is one hundred percent efficient.
The premises of a great feed and grain house are most interesting. Large stocks of many kinds are carried and the telephone brings many orders that are filled without delay. The business comprehends a multitude of products that are in constant demand. Seeds of many kinds for home gardening—the demand for which, is the barometer of the steady growth of the community; chicken feeds; seeds for hay and grain; poultry supplies; fertilizers and in fact everything for the farmer.
They make a specialty of spraying materials for the groves and the insecticides are carried in stock also. They handle wood, coal and ice. They are public weigh masters; they have three large delivery trucks to serve the city and the whole county.
This business is conducted with an eye to minimum cost for the consumer. All materials are bought direct from the farmer, thus eliminating any unnecessary overhead. In turn they are sold to those farmers in need of certain materials at a fair price and with a very commendable service. Two road salesmen are constantly covering the country districts, so it may be seen that nothing is left undone to give their customers the best of quality and service. It is a noteworthy fact that this concern supplies two-thirds of the seeds for use in Orange county.
“Everything for the farmer and some very useful things for the city folks”—so it is. Their fine store and the big warehouse are full of those vital necessities that the farmer must have and the people of the city cannot do without.
