MURDY H. K. L. SECRETARY Thomas A. Murphy of Santa Ana has been chosen state secretary of the Knights of Columba bus, succeeding Louis I. Lefevre of Long Beach. NAME COAL COMMISSION WASHINGTON, July 21. — In a telegraphic reply to Governor Sproul of Pennsylvania, President Harding soon will appoint a coal commission to arbitrate the differences between the operators and unions. BUENA PARK BUENA PARK, July 21. (Spl.)—Mr. and Mrs. A. Nelson and daughter, Miss Margaret arrived home on Wednesday from a motor trip of 2000 miles through northern California and Oregon. They report seeing some wonderful country including the big trees. Some of the roads were in very bad shape and they wore out four new tires on the trip. The weather was very cold along the coast and every one wore overcoats. Richard Nelson attended a banquet given by the Lumbermen at the Elks club at Anaheim on Wednesday evening. J. F. Simpson had some men out burning weeds along Artesia-st on Wednesday and they set fire to all the telephone and light poles. Chief Owens and some boys took over a load of chemicals and put out the blaze before much damage was done. Everyone is going to the big Standard Oil Barbecue and dance on Sunday at the big gum grove near Northam. Sabe Robison made a business trip to Los Angeles on Wednesday. Mrs. Fay and daughter, Nolan, of Escondido are at the Mahr home during the illness of Mrs. Mahr. Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Rock and children were Fullerton visitors on Thursday. NEW YORK, July 21. — The crown of the Hapsburge studded with diamonds and rubles, is missing from the Spanish consulate in Vienna, and a search for it has been started in the principal cities or Spain and elsewhere.
