LOCALS ESTABLISH HOME RUN RECORD IN 20-1 VICTORY
Anaheim Elks got some batting practice yesterday in 20 to 1 victory over the Huntington Park team on the Huntington Park field. It was a case of the league leaders meeting the tailenders. The locals piled up 23 hits, establishing a home-run record for the So. Cal. Elks league when Ramage, Bush, Pendleton, Dunn and Coffman got four-base clouts. Brown, pitcher for Huntington Park, got one of the two hits for the visitors, a four-bagger, which is the first and only score Huntington Park has garnered since the league opened.
Coffman, Garden Grove boy who appeared in the local lineup for the first time, connected both times be appeared at bat, once for a circle swat.
The Huntington Park team is not so strong as it might be, but the visitors kept fighting all the way. The lodge is comparatively new and some of its enterprises are still in the embryonic stage. However, the Bills should be commended for getting started after things.
Next Sunday, Anaheim plays Riverside here.

MABEE WILL WORK BEFORE KIWANIANS AT ELKS’ TUESDAY
Roy Mabee, recovering from a bad cold, is working out daily on the Elks club mat with Vlc Baden in preparation for his match with Taro Miyake, world’s champion wrestler, jiu jitsu style, at the Grand theater Tuesday of next week.
Tomorrow noon a large number of Kiwanis clubmen will have an opportunity to see the two local grapplers go to it.
The biggest crowd that ever saw a wrestling match in Anaheim is expected to pack the Grand theater for the Mabee-Miyake match, since the wonderful showing of the local wrestling-rancher against Joe "Toots" Mondt last Tuesday. Intense interest has been revived in the wrestling game locally with the knowledge that Anaheim is the home of one of the best men in the game.
While it is realized the Jap is a great wrestler no witnesses of Mabee's wonderful exhibition last Tuesday will deny that he has a mighty good chance to win. There is added interest in the match because it is not a handicap affair as was the last but is to go until Mabee or the Jap has two falls to his credit. This may mean a few minutes or several hours of wrestling. It is certain to mean a hard-fought match while it lasts.
Incidentally, Mondt, who was unable to throw Mabee, will meet Fighting John Hackenschmidt at Glendale next Friday evening.

Kerr was captain of the Huntington Beach track team and broke a number of interscholastic records, among them, mile champion of Orange-co; So. Calf., champion time 4:36; State champion time, 4:30 2-5; National Interscholastic meet, first in half mile, time 2:02.
Kerr's success is largely due to his practice of watching his cleft with extreme care. He never indulges in sweets but clings to vegetables, fruits, milk and eggs. A wonderful opportunity and future awaits the lad.
RUBIDOUX-MARTIN FRIDAY MAIN EVENT
A crackerjack main event has been signed up for next Friday night's doings at the Athletic club by Matchmaker Billy Darnley. No loss personages than Ad Rubidoux, sensational San Bernardino fighter, and Danny Martin, a rattling good boy from Tacoma, will occupy the top place. That the local fans are due for the treat of the season is putting it mildly for when such two classy boys come together a real battle that will knock 'em all dizzy is bound to take place.
Darnley considers himself very fortunate in securing the services of such a good boy as the San Bernardino battler and with just as good a boy to meet him, Danny Martin.
There is no reason why the setto should not be productive of a world of class. It is a real Hollywood and Vernon mal attraction.
Martin has only recently arrived in Los Angeles from the northern city where he has meet and defeated some of the best boys of his weight now boxing on the coast. He jumped at the chance of meeting Rubidoux, figuring that a win would place him high up on the card at either Hollywood or Vernon. Danny and Young...

DEATH SPREAD BY
BURSTING DAM
WILLOMANSETT, Mass., July 17.
The loss of one life and property loss estimated at $1,000,000 was the toll taken early today by the flood that swept through here following the bursting of two dams. A wall of water, in some places seven feet high, swept all in its path. Buildings were hurled from their foundations, trees and poles uprooted and railroad tracks torn up.
The one known death was that of Mrs. Albert Coaling of Pemleton avenue, who died of exposure and shock after she had been rescued from the raging waters. Her home had been swept away by the flood resulting from the bursting of dams at two points above here. The Langwald dam gave way first and the water released there swept away the Roberts dam.
