In the matter of the widening of the South side of Chestnut Street, in the City of Anaheim, State of California.
Notice is hereby given that,
WHEREAS, in pursuance to a resolution entitled "In the matter of the widening of the south side of Chestnut Street, in the City of Anaheim, State of California. Resolution ordering work," which said resolution was passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim on the 25th day of July, 1921, and was approved by the President of the Board of Trustees of said City of Anaheim on the 25th day of July, 1921, J. J. Schneider, Jas. E. Stewart, and W. E. Duckworth were appointed commissioner to assess the benefits and damages and have general supervision of the proposed work or improvement referred to in said resolution, to-wit: that the south side of Chestnut Street, in said City, from the west property line of South Los Angeles Street to the easterly property line of South Lemon Street be widened to a uniform width of 34.75 feet southerly from and parallel to the center line of said Chestnut Street, until the completion of proposed work or impairment in compliance with the law and the statutes in such cases made and provided, and

LA HABRA, July 1. (Spl.)—Many friends and neighbors from here attended the funeral services of John Schneider, former resident of La Habra for many years. Mr. Schneider has been a confirmed invalid since suffering from a paralytic stroke over a year ago. His death occurred at the home of his eldest daughter, Mrs. W. C. Standford, of Fullerton on Wednesday. Services were referred to in said resolution, to-wit: that the south side of Chestnut Street, in said City, from the west property line of South Los Angeles Street to the easterly property line of South Lemon Street be widened to a uniform width of 245 feet southeast from and parallel to the center line of said Chestnut Street, until the completion of said proposed work or improvement in compliance with the law and the statutes in such cases made and provided, and WHEREAS, said commissioners have made their assessment of benefits and damages and have made a written report of the eof to the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim and have attached to said report a plat of the assessment district showing the lands to be taken for said work or improvement and the lands assessed, showing the relative location of each district, block, lot or portion of lot and its dimensions so far as said commissioners could reasonably ascertain the same, and that all things by law required of them to be done and sai report and plat contain all matters required therein to be done in the manner, form and substance as required by law:
NOW THEREFORE, notice is hereby given that said report and plat were filed in the office of the City Clerk of the said City of Anaheim on the 2nd day of June, 1922. The statute made known by the underwritten Edward B. Merritt, City Clerk of the said City of Anaheim does hereby give notice of the said filing of said report and plat and notice is hereby given that all persons interested may be and they are hereby required to show cause, if any, before the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim on the 25th day of July, 1922, up to the hour of five nocturne p.m., of said last named day, why said report should not be confirmed and said last named day is the day fixed by the Clerk for that purpose.
All objections shall be in writing and filed with the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim at his office in the County of Orange State of California.
Reference is hereby made to said resolution above referred to which was adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim on the 25th day of July, 1921, and to the report and plat of said commissioners, all of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim.

LA HABRA, July 1. (Spl.)—Many friends and neighbors from here attended the funeral services of John Schneider, former resident of La Hahabra for many years. Mr. Schneider has been a confirmed invalid since suffering from a paralytic stroke over a year ago. His death occurred at the home of his eldest daughter, Mrs. W. C. Standford, of Fullerton on Wednesday. Services were conducted at the McAuley chapel in Fullerton by the Rev. Charles H. Rickman. Interment at Loma Vista cemetery. Pall bearers were Clarence Glazier, H. O. Price, H. E. Little, Samuel Stoop A. H. Johnson, A. Y. Douglass, all from La Habra. Mr. Schneider leaves to mourn his loss three daughters and two sons, Mrs. W. C. Standford, Fullerton; Mrs. Henry Fate, Avalon, Mrs. Geo. Holston, Caruthers, Arthur Schneider Detroit, and Ernest Schneider La Habra.
Returning from a week's motor trip thru the northern part of the state, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Pickering report a delightful outing. They went north by the coast route visiting at San Francisco for a few days, then over the Yosemite valley where a delightful time was had at this wonderland, thence home by way of the Ridge route. Another short fishing trip was taken to one of the popular beaches after their return and Mr. and Mrs. George B. Ellis of Whittier were regaled with a fish dinner at the Pickering home on Thursday evening.
One of the most delightful social affairs of the week was held at the Pullerton city park, with Mrs. Chas Tower, Mrs. William Snow, and Mrs. George Wolfe as hostesses, when entertained with an el fresco dinner to the members of the Monday Afternoon club recently. A daintily appointed table was spread under the shade of a large walnut tree, hot chicken pie salad, cake, and ice cream and other table delicacies were served the guests. Place cards with a subject on which the guests were requested to talk upon caused much merriment. The afternoon was spent with making plans for future entertainment. Those to enjoy this novel outing were: Mrs. C. E. Tower, Mrs.
C.E. Varney, Mrs. F.B.Drake, Mrs.J.I.Ansley, Mrs.W.L.York,Mrs.F.E.Proud,and Mrs.L.L.Chandlerand daughter,Virginia all of La Habra.
Mrs.R.M.Phillips and Mrs.M.F.Davis, who were guests with the Editorial bunch at their annual outing at Lake Arrowhead, in theArrowhead woods in the San Bernardino mountains, report a most delightful trip Everything was done for the comfort and entertainment of the guests by the Arrowhead company.The trips on the lake, auto side trips,horse back rides,and the banquet served the guests at the village were only some of the delights of the trip This resort under the new management will be one of the finest places for the tired person to spend a day a month or as long as one cares to enjoy the altitude in So.Cal.
