FAMOUS SOFT SHOE DANCER AT CALIF. A series of attractions unsurpassed for Anaheim will appear at the California theatre tonight and tomorrow. The principal features will be Dorothy Dalton in her newest picture, and Davey Jamieson, world's foremost soft shoe dancer. Dorothy Dalton has millions of admirers. In fact she is one of the best known screen stars before the public today. In her picture "The Crimson Challenge," she handles a character as it has never been handled before. The story revolves around a northern camp, rank with outlawry and blood lust, but with woman's courage predominant, she conquers the most wild bandits of the bunch. If ever there was a thrilling picture, this is it. The action runs from scene to scene in rapid succession, and there is not a dull moment anywhere. Davey Jamieson has a world-wide reputation as a soft shoe dancer. He has headlined the foremost vaudeville circuits of the earth, and appeared for several seasons with such famous stars as George Primson, the celebrated minstrel, and others. Today, with all of the old masters of soft shoe dancing that our fathers and mothers knew so well dead, with the exception of superb Eddie Leenard, "Dancing Davey" is now regarded as the leader of the stage soft snee "hoofers." He not only demonstrates the wonderful dances so well known to us all, but also does absolutely any dance which the audience might desire. In fact he requests the audience to call out dances that he can not do. As an entertainer he is supreme. This marvelous show, together with the other added attractions and subjects will remain at the California over tomorrow. Dawitt Reese, premier organist will be at the organ console all performances. LONGBEACH NO. 1 HERE THIS EVENING Long Beach No. 1 will meet Anaheim No. 1 here toight in the So. Cal. Elks Bowling league. The beach has a strong team and Anaheimers will be glad if they can win two games. The oldest actor who ever appeared on the stage was Charles Macklin, who represented Shylock in 1789 at Covent Garden when past h. 100th birthday. O.' sign at the Anaheim Athletic club's arena tonight if the advance ticket sale means anything. That shifty local colored lad, Young Dudley, expects to put up a whirlwind fight against Herb Ryan, fast Los Angeles welterweight as he is making his "Adelina Patti" possibility for the next three or four months. He is planning to go north right after he gets thru with Ryan. He has several good matches booked with various northern clubs. Classy little Ted Levin will be up against a rough hombre in Jake Poole. This will be their fifth meeting. They have fought twice to a draw and each has won a decision. Each was a regular scrap, according to Covina fight fans. They will weigh around the 118-pound mark. The bout that is attracting real attention tonight is the one that brings together tough Jimmy Lloyd and Ray Camp, both of local fame. They are due to settle an "affairof honor" and the winner will receive not only the diamond studded cake but will have "Ze Complete Revenge." Both Jimmy and Ray have been training diligently for the last month just as tho it were for the welterweight championship of the world. They are hard sockets and can eat up wallops just like the C. of C. is grabbing in new members. It ought to be a sweet battle while it lasts for both boys have agreed there must be a winner, no-draw goes. Lloyd is after a chance with the winner of tonight's main event while Camp says nix, all he wants is the satisfaction of beating his rival as he has promised his "sweet mama" that this will be his first and last battle. Ray says he would much prefer to be a nice "daddy" to some "Sweet Mama" than a prize fight toredor like Jimmy Lloyd. As to the winner, folks, some say Jimmy, and some say Ray—take your pick. The rivalry is keen,—the interest is unusual and the attendance, well, everyone will be there to see these two stalwart glad- CALIFORNIA TODAY TOMORROW Saved! Snatched from death by the fighting heroine of Lost Valley—the girl who rode and shot like a man, but loved like a woman. Just one of the hundred thrills in this stirring tale of the Golden West. Come and feel its mighty sweep and appeal! no-draw goes, Lloyd is after a chance with the winner of tonight's main event while Camp says nix, all he wants is the satisfaction of beating his rival as he has promised his "sweet mama" that this will be his first and last battle. Ray says he would much prefer to be a nice "daddy" to some "Sweet Mama" than a prize fight toredor like Jimmy Ljoyd. As to the winner, folks, some say Jimmy, and some say Ray—take your pick. The rivalry is keen, the interest is unusual and the attendance well, everyone will be there to see these two stalwart gladiators in deadly combat. The three preliminaries should produce enough action to satisfy any fan. When clever Joe Chaney and Paddy Dillon clash some real ring work is promised. Bud Daker and Bobby Gray, the two slugging and hard-hitting welterweights who put up such a hurricane mill of it on last weeks program, are due to repeat. Young Frankie and Mose Mootch, a couple of willing performers, will raise the curtain at 118 lbs. BABE ORTON WINS FROM KID RUBIO Babe Orton, clever Indian lad who has been rapidly coming to the front in his last few bouts, won another at San Bernardino last night when he decisively beat Kid Rubio, a cousin of Ad. Rubidoux, in four of the fastest rounds ever witnessed at the Gate City. Babe scored four knockdowns and made a big hit with the Gate City fight bugs. He and Rubio are rematched for the semi-windup at the same club next week. Orton is showing vast improvement since Billy Darnley took him over and if nursed along carefully has the makings of a good boy. Darnley has him on the Hollywood cord tonight. So good an impression did he create with the Hollywood matchmaker who was in San Bernardino last night that he asked Billy to let him place him on the program, to which Darnley consented. Babe will meet Jimmy Murphy a good Los Angeles 125-pounder and here's hoping the youngster gets by in good style in his first big league adventure. A.
