CYPRESS NEWS
CYPRESS, June 22. (Spl.)—The former Robison residence was moved Monday onto the church property and will be used as a parsonage. The Robisons, meantime, are living in their tank house. Lumber is on the ground for the erection of their new dwelling. The work on the school house is progressing rapidly. The Fuquay garage is ready for the installation of machinery. The Lanler cottage is nearing completion. Cypress is booming.
A month ago there were four 'for rent' houses in Cypress. Now all houses are occupied and inquiries for more houses coming in every day.
Irvin Holder is recuperating nicely from an accident which happened last week while Irvin was operating a buck-rake. Irvin was struck just above the right eye with one of the levers. He was rendered unconscious for some time and a deep gash necessitated several stitches. Dr. Hasson of Buena Park was in attendance.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer B. Locke of Everett, Wash., is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fuquay.
D. W. Grindlay visited the M. M. Carpenter home last week.
Mrs. Geo. B. Miller and Mrs. W. C. Miller and two small sons visited at the home of Mrs. M. Kendall in Los Angeles Saturday and Sunday.
Sabe Robison is taking a few days vacation before assuming duties as manager of the Buena Park branch of Scott & Frampton stores. Mr. Robison resigned his position with the Buena Park Hardware Co. to accept this new position. Sabe knows the grocery business and is well liked so his success in his new capacity is assured.
W. C. Miller and Smilling Earl Smith were business visitors to Los Angeles yesterday.
Mrs. Dave Holder leaves this afternoon for a three weeks' visit with relatives at Sacramento.
A good turnout of poultrymen was on hand to see the culling demonstration held at the G. G. Priddy poultry pens last Monday.
Ralph LaRue who is traveling with a class from the agricultural department of the Univ. of Calif. is home for a couple of nights, but will leave tomorrow for Berkeley where he will resume his studies. His class has just returned from a tour.

BUENA PARK
BUENA PARK, June 22. (Spl.)—The Golden Rule class of the Congregational Sunday school entertained with a sock social at the Cemetery hall on Tuesday evening. A fine program was given opening with a class song by the girls of the G. R. C., followed by a prayer by Rev. Hilgenfeld.
Piano solo, Eunice Mann; reading, Margaret Nelson; pantomime entitled Wild Nell. The pet of the plains was given next and it set the house in an uproar. By request this was given again at the close of the program. Reading, Me, and My Down Trodden Sex, by Buelah Nelson; solo, Rev. S. Hilgenfeld; piano solo, Leona Hilgenfeld; shadow pantomime, "Dr. Rough on 'Em"; shadow picture. The Oyster Man; solo, Leono Hilgenfeld; piano selections, Mrs. J. Ferritt, Tin Pan Orchestra, Golden Rule Class.
Games were enjoyed for the rest of the evening. Rev. Hilgenfeld Geo. Cole and S. W. Little caused much amusement by trying to thread a needle with one eye closed. Punch and cake were served by the girls and every one voted the social success.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Nelson motored to Santa Fe Springs on Monday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Rock and children motored to Fullerton on Monday.
G. H. Guernsey has installed a new soda fountain in the drug store.
The Congregational Sunday school picnic will be held at Brookside Park Pasadena on Friday. All machines are to be at the church at 8 a.m.
