ATTEMPT TO REVOKE CULT HEAD'S WILL
Petition to revoke the will of Walter Lockwood, who called himself W. L. Thales, after the Greek philosopher, revealed some of the querrites set forth in the "Book of Oaspil" of the cult, which flourished at Picentia. Lockwood's colony are said to have practiced free love and were vegetarians. The estate amounts to $30,000.
He claims to have direct communication with spirits. His brothers and sisters assert because of his queer beliefs and acts that he was of unsound mind, and seek to have the will withdrawn. The petitioners are Louis and Thomas Lockwood, brothers, Hammond Lockwood, a half brother; and Martha Carter, a half sister. Their attorneys are Charles Swanner and Roland Thompson.
It was declared that the will was not signed in the presence of witnesses. The will was drawn in 1920 and "Thales" died Dec. 24, 1921.
