G.P.GETS WELL AT REDONDO BEACH With Oil Operators The General Petroleum has done the expected at Redondo. A few days ago a small heavy oil producer was predicted for the G.P.at Redondo, well No.1 Petitfils. At 3570 the General Petroleum put Petitfils No.1 on the pump and the well is making 100 barrels of 14 gravity oil. The General Petroleum will try out the well for a time, and should the oil fail to lighten up and the well increase its output it is the intention to deepen it and carry it on down into the lower sands believed to be in this new field. The Union Oil Co's Francis No.1 at 3675 has all the earmarks of a producer. This well has made several demonstrations sufficient to prove to any that might be skeptical about the existence of oil or the outcome of the well. The Chansler-Canfield's discovery well Del Amo No.1 redrilling and cleaning out has become so lively that the work is being carried on under some difficulties. Dominguez No.1 set the 8¼ at 3570 and cemented. The cement failed to set and great quantities of oil was forced up through some 70 feet of cement. The well in words of the driller is showing "plenty of pep." Production made rapid strides at Signal Hill during the past week. The production of So.Calif's newest field was more than doubled, the output running now close to 9000 bbls.daily. The Shell Co.'s Goddard No.1 gave the field's output a big boost by coming in a 2100 barrel well. Geo.F.Getty'Herwick No.1 came in at 800 barrels and increased its output to 1000. Leonard No.1 has been averaging 700 barrels for 10 days past, this well has been on production. The Marine Oil Producing brought in a 600 barrel well war, and is expected to make the subject very interesting to the boys. A number of other features will also be provided, it is stated. Production made rapid strides at Signal Hill during the past week. The production of So. Calif's newest field was more than doubled, the output running now close to 9000 bbls. daily. The Shell Co.'s Goddard No. 1 gave the field's output a big boost by coming in a 2100 barrel well. Geo. F. Getty's Herwick No. 1 came in at 800 barrels and increased its output to 1000. Leonard No. 1 has been averaging 700 barrels for 10 days past, this well has been on production. The Marine Oil Producing brought in a 600 barrel well near the top of the hill. The Ridgers Oil well formerly known as the Signal Hill Midway is the smallest well of the week's new comers. The Rodgers well was completed at 3120 and is making about 350 barrels. Dated April 1, 1922. L. J. SHERIDAN. Secretary, Anaheim Union Water Company. Publish April 14-17-19-21-24. HUNTINGTON BEACH ADDS 5000 BBLS. With 01 Operators Five thousand barrels of new production was added to the Huntington Beach output during the past week. The largest addition to the yield was made by the Amalgamated Oil Company in the decpening and redrilling of Fowler No. 1. The production of Fowler No. 1 fell to 30 barrels. Redrilling the well brought it up to 150 barrels. Miley-Keek 5 re-drilled and cleaned out increased its production from m275 barrels to 600 barrels. Niel Anderson the miracle man of the oil industry today has put Huntington Signal on production a 450 barrel well. For a number of months the Huntington Signal battled with water and sand and made no oil to speak of. Anderson succeeded in shutting off water with a string of six inch and now the Huntington Signal stockholders will soon be drawing dividends. McIntyre Bros. are making some progress in getting out the drill pipe lost in the Huntington Union deep test, well on the north side of the field. Drilled to 4556, the drill pipe twisted off, leaving almost all of the string in the hole. 3200 feet of this pipe is out and the outlook for recovering the remainder is good. The Pico Petroleum Company, a concern organized in the boom days of Huntington Beach, has been succeeded by the International Petroleum Company, a Long Beach company. The International is putting a rig on the Arnold property and intends to start immediate development work.. The rig is located on property south of the Petroleum Midway's big Towers well and is considered one of the best pieces of undeveloped ropery in the field. The Invaders Oil Company, a company that probably holds their record at Huntington Beach for a checkered career, is now a producing company. Invaders No. 1 is now making a 189 barrels daily. Rigging up work on the company's second well is underway. The drilling operations are under the management of Wm. Crans, a former superintendent for the Petroleum RIDGE TO RETIRE FROM RICHFIELD The Ridge Oil Co. is making preparations to retire from Richfield. The parting of a string of casing in its 4775 foot well and the lack of any big showing of oil led to the decision. The Ridge Oil Co. was organized by Vern Dumas and started drilling in Richfield two years ago. The well was located in a section of the field that at that time looked very promising. The work has been done under expert direction, and the funds of the company have been used for development work. It can be truly said that the stockholders and backers of the Ridge Oil Co., got a run for their money. Garden Grove at the hands of the Standard Oil Co. has been given a deep and thoro test for oil. Not finding any indication of oil after drilling to 5525 the well is to be abandoned. For several hundred feet the formation ran without a break in brown shale. The sand was expected to underlay the brown shale, but none was found. This deep well was drilled with the rotary and represents a nice piece of work for rotary drilling. More than a mile of hole was made without any serious fishing jobs or other mishaps. Santa Fe Springs is laying hold of the title of the Elk Hills of So. Calif. Last week's new producers and the big increase of production is justifying the title. The Amalgamated Oil Co. has Dallage No. 1 back doing close 4000 barrels. The big Santa Fe well No. 1 drilled by the General Petroleum, started of at 3200 barrels and ran up to 3900. The Standard Oil Co.'s South Whittier Community No. 1 is coming along nicely and will undoubtedly make a 2000 barrel well. The production of the Santa Fe Springs field is now running close to 15000 barrels daily. The oil produced is not less than 24 gravity and as high as 37. Wells at Santa Fe Springs are deep, they cost money, but when they are completed they come in big producers of the highest gravity oil produced in the south. Machris Brothers, founders of the Bandit Oil Co., and the Wil- Experiments that have rasted for a year in Everett, Wash., have brought the conclusive proof of the applicability of the new tele-chromometer, which measures the exact length of a conversation and so presents a stable method of charges. The device is the invention of Major Garrison Babcock of Seattle shown using his invention. have perfected the organization of the Machris Syndicate No. 2. This Syndicate holds the Landle and Babonets properties, both properties adjoining the Standard Oil Co.'s South Whittier Community holdings and regarded as some of the best in the field. While we do not hear the roar of big gassers and the flow of guskers in the old Montebello field things are doing there just the same. The Petroleum Midway recently completed a 700 barrel well on the Prugh property. The Allied Petroleum has been taken over by the Church-Miner Syndicate and drilling continues at 3350. start immediate development work. The rig is located on property south of the Petroleum Midway's big Towers well and is considered one of the best pieces of undeveloped property in the field. The Invaders Oil Company, a company that probably holds the record at Huntington Beach for a checkered career, is now a producing company. Invaders No. 1 is now making a 159 barrels daily. Rigging up work on the company's second well is underway. The drilling operations are under the management of Wm. Crans, a former superintendent for the Petroleum Audway. J. W. Jameson now has a 600 barrel daily production at Huntington Beach. Jameson's Linoleum No. 1 drilled to 3678 came in a few days ago a 100 barrel well. This with No. 2 making about 200 barrels, gives the Jameson Company a meal ticket in the Huntington Beach field. Jameson leads the Catalina View Oil Company and is about to start drilling on the company's first well. The Shell Company will develop the eastern end of the Huntington Beach field with a well on the Siate Donald property. McDonald No. 1 is located on the adjoining property south and east of the Huntington Central No. 2. A San Francisco oil company known as the Section 10 Oil Co., has taken over the Thomas Syndicate. Thomas Syndicate was formerly known as the Geo. E. Cloud well and has a varied experience as an oil well. The Section 10 Oil Company will clean out the Thomas Syndicate, drill it 50 feet deeper and put it on production. With the taking over of the Cloud well by the Section 10 Co., the Huntington Thomas Syndicate disappears and Geo. E. Cloud becomes field manager of the new owners. The Section 10 Oil Company has holdings in Ventura and Camarillo and has aspirations on becoming one of the oil-producing companies of the south. The Dolke-Thomas Syndicate is not to be abandoned. The loss of two strings of drill pipe and the moving dard Oil Co.'s South Whittier Community No. 1 is coming along nicely and will undoubtedly make a 2000 barrel well. The production of the Santa Fe Springs field is now running close to 15000 barrels daily. The oil produced is not less than 24 gravity and is up as high as 37. Wells at Santa Fe Springs are deep, they cost money, but when they are completed they come in big producers of the highest gravity oil produced in the south. Machris Brothers, founders of the Bandini Petroleum Co., and the Wilshire Oil Co., are heavy operators at Santa Fe Springs. The Machris Bros. of the rig has lead perhaps to the consideration of this idea by some. However the Federal Drilling Company is not going to let a little difficulty like that stand in the way of completing its contract and has resumed work on the second hole. It was necessary to have a string o fieft hand drill pipe shipped from the East in order to go ahead with the work. C. S. Thomas one of foremost geologists in California located the well and his friends are anxious to see his judgment vindicated. With the showing of light oil at 3850 the Chino-Corona United is attracting some attention. At 3700 feet this well produced a small quantity of heavy oil.
