Thursday, April 20, 1922 FED. MISSIONARY SOCIETIES HOLD MEETING HERE SEVENTY-FIVE delegates from the various Lutheran Missionary societies of Southern California gathered in Grace Lutheran church of this city yesterday to discuss the building of a new women's hospital in India, and other matters of paramount interest. In her address of welcome Mrs. M. Larsen, the president of the local society, called attention to the fact that the federation was first called into being in Anaheim three years ago and that connections had now been established with the General Conference of the East by becoming one of its districts. In her response, Mrs. J. Beckyer of Pasadena, and president of the district federation read several letters of greeting and encouragement from notable workers of the general conference. The principal speaker of the day was Mrs. J. H. Troutman of Butler, Pa., who is touring the West and at present making her home at the Clark Hotel of Los Angeles. In a pleasing manner she narrated the excellent work which the general conference had been doing and explained how it had set as its present task the building of a much needed hospital in the Teluga field of India. Her address was well received and the ladies voted to give the plate offering of the day, which amounted to $45, to this cause, as well as pledging further assistance. A very instructive paper on "Missionary Education" was read by Mrs. L. Berger of Los Angeles, while Miss Minnie Habicht told of what the local society of Pomona had been able to accomplish. Due to the untiring efforts of this society it was possible to erect a new chapel, which will be dedicated Sunday, Rev. J. H. Peters of Anaheim to preach the dedicatory sermon. The musical features were rendered by Mrs. R. Reinhard of Pomona, and the Mesdames E. Simkins and G. Koons of Santa Ana who sang pleasing solos and duets. During the noon hour a lunch was served in the Parish hall. The committee to serve consisted of Mrs. B. Rasmussen, Mrs. Wm. Schimming and Mrs. J. H. Peters. It was necessary to serve twice because of the large to accomplish. Due to the unfringed efforts of this society it was possible to erect a new chapel, which will be dedicated Sunday, Rev. J. H.
