TO CHURCH SUNDAY
ITS significance is both sacred and sentimental. From the devotional standpoint it lifts our soul in communion with our better impulses and gives us new incentives for better living with Nature's changing season.
From a sentimental standpoint it enlivens and awakens our pride, our self regal and the esteem with which we seek to impress ourselves in the minds of our fellow men. We manifest that in our new raiment, new spirits, new aspects on life for which we receive our suggestion with Spring's balmy breezes, green trees, the lushness of the birds and the fragrance of the flowers, and rendering to us a full appreciation of the joy of living.
PSALM 100
1. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
2. Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing.
3. Know ye that the Lord, He is God; it is He that hath made us, and not ourselves; we are people, and the sheep of His pasture.
4. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto Him, bless His name.
5. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.

FULLERTON METHODIST
Easter Sunday at the First Methodist church will be marked by four great services.
At 9:45 a.m. the Bible school will convene and each of the five departments will have special Easter programs. It is confidently expected that the attendance will reach 600. A special Easter offering for Missions and benevolences will be taken through the school. This will be in the nature of a self-denial offering for the Passion Week.
At 11 o'clock the regular Easter church service will be observed. Special musical features will be the Anthem by the choir, "The Lord is in His Holy Temple" which will introduce the service, Mrs. Ralph P. Rohrer will sing the beautiful Contralto solo, "As it Began to Dawn," and Miller's sately anthem, "On Wings of Morning Borne" will be sung by the choir under the direction of Glenn Lewis.
The sermon subject, "The Power of the Resurrection" will be developed by the Pastor Rev. C. R. Montague.
At this service several candidates will be baptized and a large number received into church membership.
The Easter observance of Fullerton Commandery Knights Templar will begin at 2:30 p.m. With the Commandery will appear the Royal Arch Chapter, the Blue Lodge, and the Eastern Star. The impressive Easter ritual of the Knights Templar will be conducted by Sir Knight Hastraunt and Sir Knight Montague will preach the sermon, "He Is Risen".
Musical features of this service will be contralto solo "Open the Gates of the Temple" by Mrs. J. T. Scott. A selection by the Masonic quartet, "Content". Shelley's Anthem, "Now the Earth in Resurrection Light" will be sung by the choir.
The evening service at 7:30 will be marked by one of the finest religious musical pageants ever given in Fullerton. Under the title, "The Message of Easter," the story of the resurrection will be presented in a dramatic manner that will be striking and impressive.
The program will be given under the direction of the Senior Philatheas and will certainly be worth while if
OIL BOOM SEEMS NEAR AT NEWPORT
With Oil Operators
Newport seems to be nearing an oil boom. The showing found recently by the Long Beach Consolidated would almost warrant the prediction of success for a field that has been tried out for a dozen or more years. At 3495 the Long Beach Consolidated struck a sand and shale that carries 21 gravity oil. The well is being prepared for production and will be on the pump in a few days. The Long Beach Consolidated has been the only company in the Newport field to successfully shut off water, and this fact may account for the good showing the company's well has made and the splendid outlook for production.
There is little doubt now that Redondo will be So. Calif.'s next oil field. Three of the five wells in the field are showing oil in quantity. The Union Oil Co.'s Francis No. 1 has all the earmarks of a producer at 3600. At 3560 the brown shale and sand showed a lot of oil and gas under high pressure.
The General Petroleum got a nice showing of oil in its Petfalls No. 1 at 3521. The showing justified the stopping of drilling and the installation of production equipment to try out the well.
The Chansler Canfield Midway's discovery Del Omo No. 1 at one time down 3118 feet is now redrilling close to bottom and so lively that drilling has to be carried on under difficulties. Dominguez No. 1 at 3570 showed up splendidly and set the 8½ casing.
The situation at Garden Grove as far as an oil well is concerned remains unchanged. Chaffee No. 1 is now drilling at 5535 and the outlook for production is far from being encouraging.
The Beatty Oil Co. continues its work at Eagle Rock in spite of the predictions of a dry hole. At 3125 the formation is a hard conglomerate so hard that grilling is slow and somewhat expensive.
The Wucherer and Gary Oil Co. now has a test well drilling at 3500
Gates of the Temple" by Mrs. J. T. Scott. A selection by the Masonic quartet, "Content". Sheley's Authem, "Now the Earth in Resurrection Light" will be sung by the choir.
The evening service at 7:30 will be marked by one of the finest religious musical pageants ever given in Fullerton. Under the title, "The Message of Easter," the story of the resurrection will be presented in a dramatic manner that will be striking and impressive.
The program will be given under the direction of the Senlor Philatheas and will certainly be worth while if advance notices tell the story.
Trumpeters, bulbs, flowers cocoons, all living and animate, will appear at the proper time.
A special orchestra with augmented parts will assist in the music, and the choir have an important part.
"The costuming is quite ambitious and the whole effect should be instructive and reverential."
NAZARENE CHUROH
There will be services under the auspices of the Church of the Nazarene at the mission on South Helena street, Anaheim, Rev. L. H. Humphrey, of Santa Ana, will bring the message.
