HUNTINGTON BEACH PRODUCTION CLIMBS With Oil Operators Huntington Beach production continues climbing. New wells are coming in at the rate of two and three every week, and now the daily average is up close to 20,000 barrels. A year ago the pessimists were saying that Huntington Beach would not make a field, and if it did it would yield a few small short lived wells. Production increases for the past month have averaged almost a thousand barrels a week. Ten wells were brought in during March, the smallest being 250 barrels, the largest well running up to a thousand. A few days after the Shell Co. of Calif. became the owner of the Union Oil Co. of Delaware's holding a 1000 barrel well was brought in on the Auhton lease. Ashton No. 2 completed at 3922 came in at 1200 barrels and settled to 1000 barrels. The big well is producing 26 gravity oil. The Golden Dome Oil Co. will resume drilling in a few days. Drilling was stopped at 3007 feet and preparations made to put the well on production. As only a few feet of oil sand had been drilled thru it was thought best to deepen the well before the final completion: The Golden Dome has been financed by Frank O. Wakeley a pioneer of the Huntington Beach field and a believer in Santa Fe Springs for almost a decade. Niel Anderson has taken hold of the Eden Syndicate and Huntington Signal in a manner that insures immediate results. The rotary is drilling the Eden Syndicate deeper, and a string of 6-inch casting that will shut off the water in the Huntington Signal has already been set. Anderson has directed the development work of the Selby-Root-Hogue Oil Co. at Richfield and brought in some of the big producers of the field. Stockholders in the Eden Syndicate and Huntington Signal are fortunate in having their interests fall into the hands of Niel Anderson. Segundi Guasti the wine grape growers of San Bernardino-co has got into the oil business at Huntington Beach. Senior Guasti has taken over the Huntington Beach Royalty well and will put it on production. Guasti has been heavily interested in this well from the beginning and takes it over to protect his interests. PLACE YOUR CLASSIFIED ADS BEFORE 13,000 READERS. UNDERSTOOD that Guasti is also highly interested in the United Security Syndicate and may take that over and put it on production. THE Interstate Oil Co. has gone into Huntington Beach with the intention of developing the properties of the Bolsa Chica and the Vista Del Mar companies and putting these two companies on a dividend basis. In the taking over the Vista Del Mar the Interstate assumes heavy drilling obligations. The Interstate has the capital and the equipment to do the work and the Bolsa Chica and Vista Del Mar will have production inside of three months. J. W. Jameson's work as a private operator at Huntington Beach is beginning to attract attention. Jameson leased property several months ago in the north east side of the field that was not looked upon with much favor. The Rio Bravo No. 1 proves Jameson's judgment. Jameson has one well producing, one near the oil sands, one rigging up, and a fourth well building rig. Jameson's No. 4 is located south of the Petroleum Midway's big well Towers No. 1 and should be one of the best in the field. The Standard Oil Co. started the week at Huntington by starting four new wells. The new wells are Huntington A-18, B-11, B-12, and Bolsa 7. The Standard Oil Co. has some 30 wells drilling are located in every part of the Huntington Beach field, and the work is not only proving up property for the Standard but for other adjoining companies as well. DEMANDS HIS PAPER BE ALLOWED MAILS NOGALES, Ariz., March 31.—Pedro G. de la Lama publisher of "Justicia," a Spanish language newspaper, today wired President Obregon of Mexico, demanding that his publication be allowed to circulate south of the International line. The paper was prohibited in Nogales, Sonora, and its circulator jailed, after it had carried an article denouncing the Obregon government as a sham administration, dominated from behind the scenes by Villa, notorious bandit and raider. It also branded General Francisco Manzo, commander of military operations in Sonora, a "brutal butcher" for allegedly directing the recent shooting of General Felix Diaz. NOTICE El Camino Rancho "California's Greatest Farming Opportunity" Here are the facts in a few short sentences: Deep, rich alluvial soil; an abundance of water at low cost; a long, sunny growing season; dry, healthful climate; six heavy cuttings of alfalfa; a wonderful dairy, hog, poultry and general farming country; the best prune, apricot, peach, cherry, fig, olive, grape district in the state. Oranges, lemons, almonds and walnuts pay excellent profits; quick routes to close high priced markets with over one million population; right on main line of Southern Pacific Railroad and paved State Highway; a country of wide-awake, progressive, intelligent people; a few minutes auto ride from modern cities; the best of school advantages for your children. Irrigated Land $250 to $300 an acre now under cultivation. Pomona, California, Pacific Land Corporation, Proberta, California. Gentlemen: We had a very heavy frost when I left Pomona for El Camino Rancho and I found you had not had frost when I arrived. I found you have a longer growing season than Southern California, and fruits go onto the market earlier and bring higher prices. Olives in Southern California are black with scale, but we found the olive trees at El Camino clean and bright and free from scale. This is also true of the oranges. I found there was no scale in your district. I was in one of the packing plants where they were packing the queen olive for which the growers were getting $350 a ton for first grade and an average of $300 a ton for all grades. I visited one olive grove where the owner told us his crop this year from 7 year old grafted trees would bring him close to $1,000 an acre. He also said he would not sell his grove for $3000 an acre. We found the prunes, apricots, peaches, figs, pears, and grapes big money makers. I don't think I ever saw better alfalfa than I saw on El Camino Rancho—this is also true of Milo and sudden grass. we found the olive trees at El Camino clean and bright and free from scale. Suidan grass is raised for seed and pays from $100 to $150 an acre. I never saw better land than I saw on El Camino Rancho. I never saw so much water come out of a well as on your ranch. I don't think, from my talk with ranchers, it is any hotter, if as hot, as at Pomona. The new settlers on El Camino Rancho are going right ahead and I have never seen so much development in such a short time. I saw wonderful crops on land settled on last spring, excellent houses and improvements, and your settlers are well to do American farmers. I bought twenty acres of your land which I intend to improve to orchard and make my home, and I believe that I can make it worth $2,000 or more an acre in a very few years.
