WM. JACKSON STORE IN NEW BUILDING
No better children's wear store or department exists in Orange County, according to William Jackson, than his new store possesses, just thrown open in the former post office building. The department is placed in the balcony at the rear of the store, and a large and increasing stock is on hand from which parents may select.
With the addition of considerable space in the rear of the building, and the construction of the balcony and elaborate exterior show cases, the new store is considerably larger than the former one. The Fashion Park clothes, Eagle shirts, Knox hats and other excellent lines have been added to the stock.
The new store, which is at 139 West Center, is an adornment to the local business section.
AGAINST MOSQUITO PEST
According to French experimenters mosquitoes prefer the blood of rabbits to that of other domestic animals, and rabbits can be used to keep the insects away from residences.
PREDICT BIG HONEY CROP THIS SEASON
Methods of handling the big crop of honey predicted for this season will be discussed at the Beekeepers' Field Day and Picnic Saturday, March 11th, at Tustin. The bountiful rains of the last winter will assure a splendid growth of wild and domestic bee pasture and induce a greater blossoming than the average of the past dry winters. Beekeepers are all smiles this spring at the outlook.
Prof. Ralph Benton of the Univ. of Calif., M. H. Wells of Los Angeles, J. E. Pleasants, county bee inspector, H. E. Wahlberg, farm advisor, and others will be on the program.
All beekeepers are invited to bring their picnic lunch and spend the day at Geo. J. Brown's ranch, Tustin, corner Mitchell ave and Red Hill ave. The program starts at 10 a.m.

The lumber company claims $2971.90, Gormley $100 for electrical work, the hardware company Thirty-seven years ago a farmer lad stood in the railway yards at St. Thomas, Ontario, and gazed at the huge, huddled hulk of Jumbo dead—killed by a Grand Trunk railway switch engine.
The lad was Al G. Barnes, known throughout that part of the province as "the boy horse trainer," a lad whose father had a standing forfeit of $100 posted for anyone that could produce a balky equine that young Al G. could not drive off in ten minutes.
Gazing on the dead Barnum elephant, young Barnes declared, "Some day I'll have a bigger circus than this one and I'll have a bigger elephant than Jumbo!" Bystanders laughed, but there were some who gave a second thought to

The lad was Al G. Barnes, known throughout that part of the province as "the boy horse trainer," a lad whose father had a standing forfeit of $100 posted for anyone that could produce a balky equine that young Al G. could not drive off in ten minutes.
Gazing on the dead Barnum elephant, young Barnes declared, "Some day I'll have a bigger circus than this one and I'll have a bigger elephant than Jumbo!" Bystanders laughed, but there were some who gave a second thought to the lad's boast, for they had a live respect for his way with animals.
The next year the boy took the road with a pug dog and a greyhound. His rise to the ownership and operation of the world's largest wild animal circus is the greatest individual achievement in white top history. And this year, Al G. Barnes has made good—more than made good—his boyish boast by presenting to the American public Tusko, the largest elephant in the world, a foot taller than Jumbo and a ton and half heavier—an elephant with tusks six feet long, a veritable mammoth. When the Al G. Barnes Wild Animal circus comes to Anaheim, Wednesday, March 15, be sure and see Tusko. He is an education in himself. The world will never see his like again.
